re: I give LSU credit. They did what they had to do to keep Aranda.

I don’t know where you’re getting your information, but Aranda is not an elite recruiter. Yes he can go and find 1 to 2 LBs a cycle and go after them, but that’s not what we pay him for. His defensive play calling is the elite part of him, and you not knowing this shows that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

This is the best description of the aggies than any other I have seen here. They have always been a second tier program and no matter how much they spend to put lipstick on that sickly pig, they are what they are.

Jimbo would have used Aranda for negative recruiting. That was the plan.
Now we will just hire an actual elite recruiter instead.

Yeah that’s dumb, and doesn’t make any sense. Again, you don’t know wth you’re talking about when it comes to Aranda.

How much can LSU afford? We know the state is strapped for cash so when they spend at this level it is going to be highly scrutinized. If Canada is in fact fired that means LSU is on the hook for 3 M (paid over 3 years), the cost of a quality new OC (1-1.5M per over 3-4 years), Aranda (2.5 per over 4 years), O (3.5 per over 4 years), & Leslie who is still owed 6 M (paid over 4 more years). That is 10 M locked in per year (before assistants) For the next 4 years. Does anyone really believe O can lead this group to true on field success? I know most of the LSU fans I’ve interacted with don’t. From an outsider, I expect more success at the level Les was fired for. Solid talent, good D, 4 losses a year.
LSU's athletic department makes money. Period. LSU can afford to keep paying coaches. The athletic director turns money back to the academic side every year to help keep the lights on, or at least that's what the dip-shite university president and space-eyed governor keep telling us.
I think the Aranda deal happened because the athletic department donors essentially turned up the heat on the BOS, pres and AD to quit fricking up football matters over money or start looking for a new job. And if I was O, I'd keep my binder updated, especially if he turns in 8-5 next year with a second offensive coordinator in two years.

Yeah, because lack of talent has been Aggys issue.

It makes a lot of sense. We hire Aranda and Jimbo could have told Louisiana recruits “we hired their best coach, that program doesn’t have a bright future.”
By keeping Aranda y’all probably kept us out of that talent pool to our east, and boxed us in trying to beat a playoff team (OU) and the local front runner (Texas) for talent closer to home.
Unless we get a national recruiter for our DC or someone who can poach Florida or California consistently yesterday was a setback for our recruiting efforts. No way to deny that.

That’s the thing- he simply isn’t that valuable to us.
This is a pathetic thing to say after spending what A&M spent on Jimbo. Perhaps he wasn’t that valuable to anyone else. But of course, in Aggy’s head, it’s because everyone else is poor and they are rich.
Now that they were outbid by “the poors” it’s because he wasn’t that valuable.

Pretty much nailed it on the head right here.
At least we found something aggy is good at: mental gymnastics.

How bout, since YOU brought it up, YOU point out wtf you're talking about with Aranda and Canada conflicting this year.

We know there was conflict with Aranda and Canada this year. That conflict is what lead to Aranda looking for a way out and Canada being fired. Do we expect Aranda to play nice with the new OC?

What's going on with you today? You're typically a quality poster. I find it hard to believe you are actually melting over this Aranda stuff, but your posts come off that way.

Why can’t I melt for once? Don’t I bleed? Don’t I feel?
