How is Ed handling the fact that his coordinator makes about three quarters of what he does when I would guess most coordinators make around 20% or less than their HC.

Why are you projecting your own complexes onto Coach O?

I mean do you see Aranda or ANY other DC getting us to be a top 50 defense next year with our talent? The answer is no. So there is a limit on what any DC is worth to us.

This doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. If that’s the case just save the money and hire a good recruiter at DC. If A&M doesn’t find a way to improve on that side of the ball all the money in the world isn’t saving Jimbo.

Aranda is a good recruiter. The guy we will hire instead of him will be a good recruiter.

That is our plan- fill the staff with good recruiters. We already did that on the offensive side of the ball.

Are Aggies really devoid talent on d side? They have to be as good as Aranda Wisconsin teams

This cannot be so because we were told TAMU does not do PLAN B!

Maybe you should focus on shutting the frick up!

aTm is like China. Big, has lots of money to rise quickly, but no foundation to stand on.

Congratulations to LSU for spending more for a coach y’all need more.

Keep telling yourself this buddy! you toke a big swing for one of the top Dc's in the country by throwing 3 million plus at him a year. Sure it was to screw over a rival but it was also to show that A&M was going for championships and recruiting. What A&M failed to take into consideration was that LSU could make it a tough decision not about money for Aranda. Thats what happened . Relationships, family came into consideration. Was it really worth moving for an extra 1 or 200k? while i'm happy in baton rouge. you got your answer. good luck on your search

Congratulations on winning short term, but I think long term you just pushed out the mediocrity. I think LSU would have been better off long term to bite the bullet, clean house (ad too), and rebuild.

This is so Aggy, never stop being pathetic.

Yes, there is a huge drop off in talent on the defense at A&M compared to say LSU. We have more talent than Wincy but we don’t play a Big 10 schedule. SEC teams with bigger O lines can run all over us, and have for years now. And we have had some of our best recruiting classes in our history since the SEC move and it still hasn’t been enough.

That is the funny part about this- even with Aranda we are probably an eight win team next year with at best a top 60 defense. We are far away from what we need to be to actually compete and most Aggies know that. Thanks to an early signing day even with Aranda our first chance to change that will be next December. We were never lined up for instant results.

Everyone laughes at that ten year Jimbo deal, but it’s a two way street. He will need years to build up our talent, and if he doesn’t we basically ended his coaching career. We have forced one of the best recruiters in the game (Jimbo) to either recruit at a high level or have his legacy tarnished.

Our plan has always been to let him hire the best recruiters he can. Aranda is a top recruiter for sure, and probably the top coach, but we cared more about the recruiting part of it. Luckily it’s eaiser to find elite recruiters than elite coaches in the sport, so someone else will be paid millions to convince what would be OU and Texas recruits to come here instead.
