Kid is getting ripped for being a bad player, yet people dont think about one thing... hes had 4 OCs with 4 different offenses and hes going into his 3rd year. I mean, that's a bit insane.

26-2 as a starter and sec offensive player of the year once... still sucks at qb.

Saban is going in dry.

When I design my list of people I feel bad for, Jalen Hurts is near the bottom.

I feel bad for him as well. I think the best thing for him would be to go to FAU. Kiffin could probably help him and he'd gain confidence against that level of competition. He's just not a good passer. But he's excellent at managing the game, the clock, not taking bad penalties or sacks, and is talented when running the ball.
As bad as his throwing can be, the last time he touched the ball in 2016, he put Bama ahead in the title game with about a minute or two left. And he got Bama back to the title game the next year. I don't think they win it if he plays the whole game, but Bama probably would not have been there at all if not for him. Tua was not ready immediately and Bama would have dropped two regular season games with Tua, and been out of the playoff for sure.
Tua is going to start and if Saban is intent on throwing the ball more, Jalen might be 3rd string. He could transfer to FAU and have two stellar years left and by the time he leaves may be ready for the NFL or CFL and be able to make a career out of football. I personally think he could have a good career in the CFL and retire with a boatload of cash.

More importantly, he’s been blessed with perennial top 5 defenses. How different have the offensive schemes really been?
He’s not getting ripped - he’s getting criticized, and rightfully so.

4 coordinators or not, he is extremely consistent hitting a downfield pass not named a screen or go route.

He's also six months younger than Tua.

It's kinda sad he gets more praise and respect from opposing fans than he does our own. Just don't get it....Kid is everything that's right about college football.

Don't - he's obviously been the worst player on the best team in the country. He should be happy he got to pretend to be a QB for as long as he has. Let's face facts - he wouldn't start for most SEC teams.

Last year vs LSU he beat us with some throws not just feet
Was that his best game? I saw clear progession

Sounds about like Jason Campbell at Auburn.

Teams that can get pressure with just their DL give everyone some problems, but more so us because of that fact. The yards dry up because the spy assigned to him only has to tackle him, which at the D1 level you won't find many linebackers who don't wrap up.
Most schools would love to have him as their starter. Our problem is we have a guy who throws it much better, has better recognition AND can run it pretty well too.
Folks forget Fromm was going to Bama as well and if he had (with Tua going elsewhere) we would have the same conversation going on with a different guy.
For that matter look at Georgia and their QB situation now. It truly is a terrible problem to have if it's not managed right by the coaching staff no matter what the fan base thinks.

He constantly got ridiculed by opposing fans when he was the starter

He played good in MSU game too. But after that it was all downhill.

He lost his mojo in the AU game. Just has not looked the same since the MSU game. I know that he struggled some before that, but he wasn't ever this bad at making reads and throwing, and making plays. He has looked straight up lost since the AU game though.
