My point is opposing fans still recognize the value he has to a team... Something that segments of our fanbase miss the boat on.

the fact that opposing fans are going out of their way to defend him should tell you all you need to know

Bad situation for sure. Just stick it out and grad transfer to GT. He would probably do well there.

Hurts had a good game against State through the air. I think it was more of Ridley getting open but still. It's nothing personal but Tua is just better. His dad is just making it worse just like the Ball's family

The problem is he's so good running the ball (and he looks faster than last year) rather than try and fit it into a small window he knows he can get yards with his feet.

Only being presented with a "small window" is not at all why he tucks it and runs so frequently. It's not because of the defense.

Except Jalen's dad only blamed Jalen. He didn't bash the coaching staff. He understands that Saban has a job to do for the team and not just Jalen. I don't agree with basically bashing your son to the press, but this is far from Lavar Ball type parenting.

I'd suggest you rewatch the A-day game and pay more attention to the throwing lanes. Mac had him read a lot.

I feel bad for him because his dad is a moron and brought all this bad attention to his son .

Daddy said what a bunch of us thought. There is no way he plays qb at bama this year. And he needs to find a school where his skill set fits their O.

It's pathetic, actually. But winning consistently means UA attracts more mouth breathers than any university not located in a single-relevant-p5-school state.

No. He was bad against LSU too. We said that was a game we should won going away but we didn't have the ability to throw.

Not sure where u think he was great in that game anyway.

Passing 11-24 for 183 yrds
Rushing. 14 carries for 44 yds

Hurts does not *suck* at QB and he is not a bad passer. He does not execute the passing tree they ask him to run all that well. If he had been turned loose as a runner and been allowed to run the read and midline option like I thought he would he would have been a more effective passer throwing off the bootleg and waggles. Unfortunately, when Bama's defense was decimated by injuries he was asked to pass more as a pocket passer. When the playoffs rolled around he was asked to do less because the defense was back to full strength but he went up against two good defenses who had time to prep for him.

It's a moot point now because his confidence is shot. And he's probably not going to get a shot at getting it back. But he is a high character and high class kid who stepped in under unbelievably difficult circumstances and has done well. Unlike some I don't place either of the two career losses on his shoulders.
