with all due respect, jimbo is recruiting well and putting a decent product on the field. thing is, these days you just don't win championships without a superstar, at least a star qb. who do the aggies have? last year, they won a lot of games vs a weak schedule - lost the big games.
LSU has more talent, not far removed from a national championship, we've got star qb's (hoping 1 will turn into a superstar this year).
I can see where A&M is picked as top 10 or thereabouts - don't know why LSU is picked 20. i think we're the team to win the west and the darkhorse to win the SEC. i see georgia, barring key injuries and/or a bad kirby decision in a big game, as the SEC champs this year.
don't think alabama wins the west or the SEC; but of course they could still make the playoffs!

They played basically the same schedule as we did and they only lost one game.

Their coach has a history of being good. LSU has two new coordinators and a coach that has only made a few good assistant hires. This is after losing 5 games last year.
LSU and Orgeron are in a prove it year in 2021.

It was touted as their best team in 50 years and our worst in 50 years, and they managed to beat us by 13 with our 2nd and 3rd string quarterbacks...

I sat in Tiger Stadium during the 80s and 90s and watched way worse teams. No one has said that it was our worst team in 50 years.

Not that it matters but this was one projected Top 20 Projection for last year. Some played the part of a good team while others had missteps.
You never know.

Because 5-5.

We were 5-5 last year, them picking us 20 is essentially splitting the baby as to whether that was a fluke or not.
And who cares where they rank A&M, it will be decided on the field.

It was on the verge of that until the very end of the season. How those kids responded in those last 2 games after all the adversity they had gone through was gutsy as hell and gives me a lot of hope for this season.

You're correct. I was surprised and impressed with the way Big Ed got the team to go out and beat UF and Ole Miss. They could have easily put away the jocks and socks early.

I have a lot of hope for the players. The new coaches are a complete wild card.

I'm pretty sure they return alot. They'll be good. Agreed though, not top 10 good

We've been blessed with a lot of great football teams here over the years, but the team that was left at the end of the season in those two games represented themselves and LSU as well as anyone we've had, including some walk ons who got playing time or guys like Chris Curry who aren't anywhere near as talented as some other players we've had here.
Anybody can go do it when things are going well, when you're 3-5 a year after a National Title, looking 3-7 in the face and people are laughing at you and guys are opting out mid-season, that's when real character comes into play.

That must mean then LSU won’t be top 20 good. Because the consensus is A&M will have a better team

No the consensus is LSU has better talent but the coaching staff is a huge question mark.

A&M has beaten lsu by much worse than 20-7 in the last 50 years in both kyle field and tiger stadium.

Y’all should put this on the side of the stadium as it’s A&M’s biggest claim to fame.

That's not what he's saying. But you know that.

Neither half of that statement is remotely true.

Why do you put so much stock in pre season rankings?
Why do you put any stock in what ESPN has to say?
