Clemson and Georgia won their conference last year. How did that work out for them?

I swear Georgia fans are the lowest IQ individuals on here. Still can’t figure out how the playoffs work.

I didn’t say anything about missing out on a conference championship. I said the best teams don’t LOSE in them.

Sorry, but that logic doesn't work. These are the longest NCAA seasons that have ever existed. I do not expect Alabama to lose, but if they did and didn't get in, the conference championship games need to be shite-canned.
Alabama VS UGA is not equal to the other one-sided conference championship games, or even not belonging to a conference. Anybody can lose a game if chaos ensues.
Making "winning your conference" a requirement for the CFP completely undoes its purpose for existence. It would penalize teams for being in a strong conference and playing a conference schedule. I would be in favor of going independent. Who is Notre Dame playing next Saturday? Should they get in without winning a conference championship?

First you don’t know how this committee will work... the committee changes members every year, and this is the first year that none of the original members are on the panel.
Secondly, no one knows what they are thinking that’s the whole damn point!
Third, at this point the CFP committee hasn’t put a team who lost their conf Champ game in the playoffs. They also have never put in a 2 loss team.
Finally, only once the.., the first year have they had to compare 2 or 3 1 loss champions for the 4 the 4th spot. tOSU vs Bay/TCU controversy and they took the one who actually won a CChamp game.
They have never had the playoffs without at least 3 P5 confs represented and ND puts that in okay this year. So you don’t know what they are thinking or what impact anything will have... you aren’t in the room and neither am I. But I can promise you this; you are just hoping a loss won’t keep you out... If tOSU and / or OU wins...there is a good change it will!

don't see how you can put a one loss Bama who didn't even win their conference in the playoffs, over a one loss OU or OSU who won theirs. It would be pretty unfair.

Whoa thats a good one. They are already in dude. Gary and Brad already voted them in during the 3rd Qtr!

The committee has 1 job: pick the 4 BEST TEAMS. Conference titles are only one way to measure that. The question the committee will rightly ask if Bama loses to UGA is this: If Bama were in the Big 10 or Big 12, would they have won those conferences? If OU or OSU were in the SEC, would they have won the conference? Case settled.
Bottom line...Bama is playing for seeding on Saturday, in all likelihood.

They should go if it is truly the 4 best teams but I think they won’t make it because the committee will essentially be setting it up for two teams that just played to play again. This wasn’t the case last year. I don’t think they’ll do it.
Win or go home.
Win or go home.

You hope. If they do their job, Bama will be in.

What you think doesn’t mean squat.

Unless it is 60-0 Georgia get ready to be disappointed.
The selection process is body of work. And eye which is how well does this team performed on a consistent basis. They are looking for the four best teams in the country. ND is undefeated and has no conference to win but they are ranked behind Bama. Would it be "fair" to pt them in over Bama who has to play an extra game against a team that may be the hottest team in the country. Also would it be "fair" to put UGA in over a team with an identical record who beat a team 29-0 that that team lost too by 19-20 points? CU is in. ND is in. UGA is in with a win. And Bama is in short of a total collapse. Just last Friday OSU was what ranked 10 or 12. Who would deserve to be in more, a team that was routed by Purdue or one that lost to Georgia? OSU has to beat Northwestern, the Vandy of the B1G. With real students playing football. Bama has to beat UGA, a football institution with hired help pretending to be students. Many who don't know the meaning of quit. Nor most other words which make up the King's English.

Bama is in, otherwise we all burn down NCAA HQ & get a 16 team CFP.
