So far Kirby Smart has had the benefit of being in a very weak SEC East. He’s very good, has a natty but still a long way from being close to his dad, Saban.

I’d hope few would argue he’s on Saban’s level. But that’s a far cry from saying GA was “lucky” to beat AL.

And the fact remains that Kirby won a NC at a younger age than Saban. Doesn’t assure he wins as many, doesn’t preclude him winning more. Shear probably and history says Kirby nor any other coach wins 7 NC’s. He may not win another. But he’s one of 4-5 guys doing consistently everything it takes to win them.

I haven’t read all 3 pages but I can’t imagine many LSU fans claiming, with hindsight, that we had the greatest coaching staff in CFB history.
