It's pointless for the majority of teams. It might only help some bubble teams.

I disagree unless you want to discontinue it altogether and go straight into Regionals. You can rest players that need the rest if your position is a lock but it's like playing midweek games. Midweek games are pointless unless you are trying to find position players, give injured pitchers a ball count or like LSU, find a pitcher out of the bullpen. Position players and especially hitters need to face it every day.

You know what the difference is in a Hoover and a Harley? Where you put the dirt bag. Almost got my arse whipped at a red light with that one.

Cant stand the conference tournament.

Change the format to single elimination or do away with it. Teams are having to start playing games on Tuesdays, which is very taxing on their bullpen. The top 4 seeds start games on Wednesday, which is taxing on their bullpen.

Its dumb. The tournament that matters starts a week later. All the conference tournament is good for is hurting arms and injuries to position players.

Change it to a best of 3 championship series, East #1 vs West #1 like football. Would be good TV and everyone else rests up.

People say it’s better not to go deep in the SEC Tourney, but our national championship years, we have been 2nd, 1st, 5th, 2nd, 1st, and 1st in the SEC tourney.

Deep Hoover runs didn’t hurt those teams.

Change the format
When the two interlopers come in, play 4 team pods. Everyone plays 3 games except the championship game.

Agreed if you’re an elite team. Teams that won the regular season title might make Hoover a priority to try and go for the rare sweep of regular season, tournament and CWS titles like 2009 LSU and 2019 Vanderbilt.

Softball has gone to single elimination. No reason baseball shouldn't.

It isn't that much tv money. Outside of the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and maybe South Carolina when they are good...there aren't very many television sets tuning in to the conference tournament.

We all love the sport, but overall it isn't moving a television viewership needle.

Only care about Hoover if we need it to get into the tourney.

Every year it’s the same thing, “I don’t care about Hoover. I want our team to rest for the regional.”

And then they take an early exit in Hoover and don’t make it out of their regional or super regional.

Winning the whole damn thing is such a crap shoot.

I’ll take an SEC championship all day long. Many years Hoover is more competitive than Omaha.

Win the mother fricker.

You just sunk their battleship.

So these SEC teams have played 55 games this year. And playing 5 or 6 more is just going to completely wreck them? I mean, there is a break between the tournament and regionals to let pitching rest. While not exactly apples to apples, MLB plays 162 regular season games a year. But there is no way an SEC baseball player could handle five more games?

I hope we're one and done. Seriously, 2021 was exhausting and I don't want that again.

Plus, I don't give a shite who wins the SECT. The regular season and NCAAT are all that's important, just like basketball.

Not really. The SECT wasn't as tough back then.

Like Roy Williams UNC basketball coach said about the ACC bbal tourney.

It’s a cocktail party, these days. The regular season underachievers need it.

The guys that want/need the improve their post season seed will play it well. The top teams will rest their horses.
