Players are protesting police murders of black people. It's not so much about how they themselves are treated.

Nope. People can’t post here if they melt away.

I don’t know what college you didn’t go to but GPA is typically a pretty good indicator of academic skills...like say reading. Wait, let me guess...GPAs are racist now, right?

2 or 3 years ago when players started disrespecting the American Flag and National Anthem I made a serious attempt to stop watching the NFL. I did watch a few big games, the Playoffs, and Superbowl - but I did manage to avoid regular-season games for most of those seasons that were affected by the kneelers.

If politics becomes the distraction in college games it was in the NFL I will avoid all games as much as possible. I'm just one person. They won't miss me. But I see this as a lifestyle change that I believe many individuals like me can and will walk away from. College football won't be the same anyway. I can already feel the joy & anticipation being zapped out the game, replaced with non-stop racial overtones, players demanding payment, and teams & fans threatening to boycott any coach, team, city, state, or politician that doesn't fit their "woke" political view.

I'm not up for all that. I don't care anymore. It is affecting my visits to this board too. ESPN is going to sanitize the game, erase it's traditions, and try to create a new product to fit the "woke" crowd. I won't be around for that.

Conspicuously absent from your list is college football. Perhaps you will give it up. The vast majority of people claiming they will, absolutely will not. At the time I’m typing this, there are 25 souls downvoting the idea that they can’t go cold turkey on college football. Those downvotes are taking place on an SEC sports forum that focuses on football. They are full of shite.

I’m not far off either. I turned on the Belmont Saturday until the jockeys were all kneeling. Turned it off and went outside. College sports will be the last domino to fall for me but it’s close.

So when HC salaries exploded from a Max of $1million per year to a Max of $9million per year, that had no impact on your joy at all?

But when players "demand payment" somehow your joy is impacted

Let's analyze a little more in depth:

HCs are maybe 90% white (maybe more) if you look at P5 & G5 where the biggest salaries earned, so those guys making tons of money have no impact on your "joy" for the game, meanwhile the Athletes that generate all the Money are clustered in only 2 Sports FB & MBB, those 2 Sports combined are 70% Black maybe slightly higher, but by some miracle when they demand a more fair percentage of the Revenues they generate, somehow that takes away your "joy" for the game

The Trend represented by your ideology clearly falls along ethnic lines, any unbiased intelligent person can see this

When talking about a more fair percentage of the Revenues generated, with all the TV, Broadcast and Merchandising Money in P5 College Sports, no longer is an undergrad degree a fair deal, in order to be more fair the Players in current day Big Money college Sports (FB & MBB) deserve the full scholly PLUS larger cash stipends

Before you start lying your arse off and insulting our intelligence with bullshite, trite concepts like amateurism, and the "integrity" of playing for an Education, save your dishonest arse keystrokes, when a Player makes a big play to help your favorite Team win, the concepts of Academics or Amateurism never enter your consciousness at that big moment when the big play occurs, all you give a shite about is whether or not you were ENTERTAINED, and since you were entertained, the front line guys that made it happen deserve more fair Economic treatment

I guess my question and other intelligent people's question is why in the frick do you want to micromanage shite that's out of your control, as long as Players dedicate themselves to being in shape, studying film and playing hard, which leads to an exciting Product on the Field, then WHY do you give a shite about, kneeling, social media comments, what amount of money they get or don't get, political opinions, or anything else that is ancillary and DOES NOT decrease the entertainment that YOU GET FROM THE frickING GAME?

You pay ticket prices to see the fricking GAME, but you want to somehow control what other grown arse adults do on their own time that does not LESSEN the entertainment value of the GAME

For 40 straight years the quality of play of CFB has gotten better each season, I mean literally no backsliding, and yet you complain about shite that has not hurt the GAME in any way

Enjoy the fricking game of CFB and stop trying to CONTROL THE PLAYERS, because big time college sports allows Blacks to get rich, and therefore any ****** that is able to be rich in America needs to be silent to make you feel better about yourself

Dude , grow the frick up and cease with passive agressive BS and stop trying control what other adults do

Whatever you pay for tickets, players Kneeling and or getting paid will never lessen the entertainment value of what happens on the Field, why sweat the small stuff if you aren't being cheated in any way?

I've been surprised at how much I haven't missed sports. I've been able to focus on more productive things and spent more time outside. I'll be honest, I hope college football happens but I'm not going to be very upset if it doesn't.

I think this is the case for a lot of people. If football doesn't happen this Fall, can you imagine how much the sentiment will grow over the next year? If the 2020 season doesn't happen, I think the 2021 season will see a huge drop in viewership. At least 30%. I'm actually kind of pulling for it at this point.

I’m allowed to talk about how awesome Trump is at my job down at the Citgo retreading old tires...but those millionaire blacks on TV who have differing opinions from me should just keep their politics out of MY sports because it ruins my Saturday and Sunday Fox News rage boner.

Think about the insignificant things that you take for granted in Free Society, things like a Candy Bar, maybe a Snickers Bar

Now think about how much a Snickers Bar is valued in a Prison, we've already lost March Madness, we've lost a major part of the MLB Season, the NHL Season, the NBA season, The Olympics, PGA Majors have been delayed, NASCAR has been changed, plus we've lost all youth sports for a while

To lose that many entities from various segments of the Sports world will make Americans desire sports on TV even more, especially CFB , 2nd to the NFL as the most popular TV Sport

If we do lose CFB for 2020, all the non Revenue Sports will be dead and flatlined, no reviving them at all no matter what the Title IX Laws say, and IF that does happen, Americans will look at the 2021 CFB Season the same way an Inmate looks at a Snickers Bar, in fact the Ratings might go up

My best guess is that you're way off on that 30% drop

Assuming your logic is used... you shouldn't expect someone else to use your logic or not have a different perspective. It's what you're saying, but not what you're doing.

I have not watched the nfl in four years. If they start bringing out the players during the anthem so they can protest then I am done with college sports too.

Fair enough

Which set of ideals and logic most likely represent equality and fairness for all which are supposed to be a foundation of American Society?

They are free to NOT use my logic, but whatever logic they do use should represent the BEST IDEALS of American Society, the ideals of freedom, justice for all , equality, and fairness

Can you honestly say that those that put forth differing logic, that their logic represents those lofty American Ideals?

IF college football is played this year, and I have very serious doubts, I’ll have to completely mute the TV and turn on our radio broadcast. My grandfather and dad used to do this shite and it annoyed me, but can you imagine the “storylines” the commentators will spew the whole game without talking about the game? It will be vomit inducing.

I think we deserve a year off and a clean slate where people come to their senses somewhat
