I think Sumrall will end up being the best off-season hire.

Bruce Feldman did a piece on going to Gainesville and left saying this is the best hire Florida’s made in 20 years
He said he can’t believe it’s the same place he was at a year earlier, which is pretty big indictment of how bad Billy was

So…we’ll see
But at least sumrall is entertaining in his press conferences and interviews, so even if he’s Billy 2.0 on the field at least he has that going for him

I’m far from a Florida fan but the older I get I root for people and he’s a great dude.
Nobody at Tulane had a negative thing to say about him and Auburn will wish they would have hired him

Many people said similar things about Billy but it quickly became clear that that was all spin from his team.
Sumrall seems like the real deal in that he hasn’t exposed himself as an arrogant douche yet the way Billy did.

Golesh has been way less successful in comparison to Sumrall.
Jon has the right demeanor and attitude, now he needs to win football games. He has checked all the boxes before coaching a game. Ready to get the full picture.

Golesh has been way less successful in comparison to Sumrall.
Previous success at a smaller school doesn’t always indicate what will happen at the next stop.
For example, in basketball Matt McMahon beat golden head to head in the tourney and was considered to be a hotter name yet golden won a natty and McMahon got fired in 4 years at their next stop.
It’s a crapshoot and not an exact science predicting who will end up being a great hire
