Tenner beat Bama in a very close game in a year in which they have struggled against mediocre teams. They pounded LSU which IMO was more impressive. But I'm constantly amazed at myopic cfb fans are at least on here. A few years ago Clemson won a couple titles against Saban and Dabo was annointed his replacement. Now after a couple of prominent wins, the tenner coach is the guy. It makes no sense to me. I would be willing to bet the guy that eventually replaces Saban isn't even mentioned in this thread

Have you seen our roster? Yes a lot of fans are being reactionary but they're not wrong either. We shouldn't be anywhere close to where we are. 2 years ago Heupel inherited a 3 win team that had lost over 35 players to the portal and ranked 128th in offense.

I'm just saying to give it a couple more years. Scott Frost went 6-7 then 13-0 in 2 years at UCF and won a national championship (lulz)

Heupel's heading to Oklahoma. Coaches want to coach where they were successful as players. He won a NC at Oklahoma and he will be their HC very soon. Don't know about Bama and Dabo, but Heupel's soon a Sooner.

Oh I don't know. Perhaps a coach that was born and grew up in Alabama a BAMA fan. A coach that played and won a championship at BAMA. Maybe a coach that's beaten the GOAT college football coach in 2 nattys.

Maybe that coach wouldn't mind following Saban at Alabama.

Anyone not wanting Dabo is retarded.
The next coach at BAMA needs to be proven and close to the same age as Kirby. Dabo is 52 and has 2 rings. He checks both of those boxes.

I'd love to hear who people would want other than Dabo at BAMA. You want to go after some unknown like Heupel, who I'm not dogging his success at all, I'm just saying the guy was green before UT hired him. You want a coach like Brian Kelly who doesn't fit into the culture?
The list of coaches that can navigate the gauntlet of coaching at BAMA is short.
Feel free to add your thoughts below:

1) Saban. Ride his arse until he dies.
2) Dabo

That's the list.

Vanderbilt has a better chance of poaching Heupel than OU.

I'm very interested to see how BAMA responds to the loss this past weekend.
Father time is undefeated.

I don't know what would be harder, watching Saban pull a Bobby Bowden and finish his last season 6-6 in the cheez-it bowl, or leaving too early.

Giving up the most points in a game in 100 years when you're a defensive guru, might be a sign that we're past the point of Saban leaving too early.
BAMA struggled with LSU, and the fricking Barn last year. That's pathetic.

If the pirate scores 50+ on this defense and Lane runs for 1000 yards and runs up the score, even if BAMA wins those games, best believe Dabo will be contacted sooner than later. Then the Clemson fans can all disappear.

Why wouldn't Dabo want to be at BAMA??

Heupel appears to me to have larger aspirations.

He looks like he wants an NFL job to me. And who could blame him? I mean Kingsbury is coaching at Arizona.
That UT team from Saturday would drag the best Kingsbury team at TejasTech.

That’s my guess as well. If he moves on it will be to the nfl.

None of that’s gonna happen, except that Saban will retire within the next eight years. Dabo will stay at Clemson because weirdos congregate with weirdos and Heupel will go to OU after Vegetable is fired after an 8-4 season on ‘23.

Stoops hung Heupel out to dry in order to keep his brother. He scapegoated Heupel. There's a lot of bad blood over it. Basically, he's saying that anyone has a better chance than Oklahoma.

Ole Lane is going to do it. He’s just crazy enough to step into that roll and I’m here for it.

Stoops isn’t there anymore. I guarantee you that Heupel’s on Oklahoma’s list, and vice versa.

Saban very well could retire. I don't want Dabo, but the lure would be strong. His ego would demand he take the gig. Clemson's brand, distasteful as it is, is far better than Tennessee's. Clemson has more money and an easier path. Plus, Heupel already looks like a Clemson fan (to be fair, he looks Tennessee, too.)

1. Possible but not probable.
2. Will 100% happen if number 1 happens in the next 5 years.
3 Clemson isn’t the team UcheaT needs to be worried about. If momma calls fatboy will be back in Oklahoma in the blink of an eye. Luckily for UcheaT Okie won’t fire Venables this early.
4. What you should have said is if Saban retires, Dabo to Bama and Clemson takes Venables back leading to fatboy back at Okie.

The only program I could foresee Heupel leaving Tennessee for is Oklahoma.
