Faurot can certainly be loud, but there are design flaws that won't make it one of the loudest/most intense unless it's just done with pure numbers.
Can they do one of those angled roofs like the Huskies just did?

I suppose it's possible. The first official renderings of the Faurot East Side Expansion had a cantilevered roof over a portion of the new upper deck, but it was eliminated. It was the first thing I noticed when the second renderings came out.
I'd personally like to see it, besides looking cool it would keep a bunch of that noise in.

Here's the original, pretty sure the second outside rendering set had the roof portion removed, but the ones I'm seeing now look like it may still be there.
Hopefully it's there when everything's said and done.

Here is the Huskies where they have a horseshoe and the echo roof
Here was a Kyle Field one with the full bowl AND the sound roof. At 100K plus I am guessing the acoustics will be very loud

Track-ish thing will still be there. Unfortunately, the only way to get the stands closer to the field would be to jack up the entire stadium and build below the existing stands like Penn State did a while ago. Field's on bedrock, so the distance will always be the same. They leave the track/path thing there for the fire truck and such.
The gray portion on the far (south) endzone side is the future expansion that way with the additional suites and the jumbotrons. It's my hope they'll build some seats around the M before doing that, though.

Yeah, I've seen Husky Stadium, it's a pretty intimidating site when you're driving next to it. Those second level grandstands are fricking tall. Their horseshoe portion is at a pretty shallow incline and isn't nearly as big as Faurot's.
The first/lowest level of vomitoriums at Faurot is ground level on the east and west sides. To do a Husky thing, they'd have to tear everything above that level out and rebuild, which isn't really feasible.
I do really like the roof though, it's pretty functional in Seattle, so I imagine the expense is worth it.
Same deal with Kyle Field, The lower bowl portion of the stadium is significantly smaller than Faurot in its current form. To do either of those things would require a basic tear down and complete reconstruction.

Remember Bret's comments? B1G recruiting is a cakewalk. Any half-decent SEC son-of-a-bitch could clean up.
I agree with this sentiment. Plus, we can sell SEC football to the B1G country recruits... and nicer weather.

Enclose it!!!!!
I don't think you have to enclose it because I still like football played in the elements but I do like these partial roofs just because they pump up the volume and can provide shade when needed. If you have ever been to the new Box, I really like they pulled the roof all they way out to the seating behind home plate.

Gonna bet he means the endzone, not the roof.

Missed that because we were deep into the roof discussion thanks for the catch.

Yepp. I'm only guessing because we were into the roofs but suggesting a dome makes no sense. I'd say it's an educated guess but my wife would probably say there's nothing educated about me.

Hate domes
Loved the old school upper midwest NFL teams like Vikings and Lions. Then they domed and now they are "meh" to watch. I like the Steelers and Ravens keeping it open.

I hope it snows 3 feet in New York come the start of February.

That would be glorious. Goodell

What we need more than facilities upgrades is upgrades in the coaching staff on the defensive side. We have had secondary problems for years.

Our AD would never hire Petrino in 1000000 years. Our AD likes "character guys"
