It’s easier to recruit someone if they are from a place with family near. Saban was able to recruit/buy 5*s nationally.

So Seattle Saban is accused of not being able to recruit the south when he signs elite players from other regions and now accused of being able to recruit the south only because it’s nearer to their home.

It figures.

What excuse will they use if he were to win the conference this year? Tall order but what if?

This team has a lot of experience back. If they get competent QB play look out.

2007: Saban won’t be able to recruit at Alabama like he did at LSU.

2008 -2010: Bama's only good bc Saban is oversigning recruits then greyshirting the ones he doesn't want.

2011-2013: Bama's only good bc they get all the calls AND paying players.

2014-2017: Bama's only good bc they get all the calls, don't play anybody AND are giving recruits Dodge Chargers.

2018-2019: Bama's not as good and Saban's lost it because Kirby left.

2020: Bama only went 13-0, had 4 1st Rounders, and a Heisman winner bc the stadiums weren't full to see us lose by 30 bc of COVID.

2021-2022: Bama's not that good and only made the natty bc UGA got the flu in the SECCG.

2023: Bama isn't good at all bc they lost to Texas and only won every other game bc of luck and ESPN wanting to give Saban one more title run.

2024: Saban's gone. Bama's burning. Deboer won't be able to recruit in the South bc of *gestures wildly* Bryan Harsin? Also, they have no money for NIL and can't cheat anymore.

2025: Bama's STILL ONLY GOOD bc I saw a pic on social media of Saban and a 5 Star RB during his visit, and since I've already done ALL THE OTHER mental gymnastics why not one more -- Saban is still in charge of recruiting.

5 star S Jireh Edwards is from Maryland. Does that count?

Picked Bama over Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Oregon, and more.

DeBeor's 2025 recruiting class featured five star-signees from Texas, Florida, and California. We also had four-star signees from California, Nevada, and Ohio. According to 247Sports, we had only one blue chip player from the state of Alabama sign last year.

Last year it didn’t matter because they were from California. Now it doesn’t matter because they are from Alabama and Georgia.

I was told by Auburn fans they would have that on lock the year.

Then what does that say about your 3rd year coach that he dominated in his 1st year ?

Yeah, and let's also forget the fact that our latest five star commit hails from the state of Maryland. So much for being able to recruit nationally in 2025-26.

Looking like a pretty clean sweep of the elite in-state talent for Alabama this cycle. I guess DeBoer and staff made those connections quickly afterall. Who knew you couldn’t judge after one cycle.

This is like congratulating an ATM machine. "Recruiting" is all about who is paying the most.

Which begs the question: why is LSU so poor?
