every team in a conference. 12 champs. 4 at large bids. that way, there's TWO ways to make the playoffs. just like every other ncaa sport

Every conference?

Sunbelt, MAC, CUSA etc? Sure, why not I guess.
4 at-large will almost ALWAYS be Notre Dame, SEC runner up, Big 12 runner up, Big 10 runner up. That means winning your division becomes huge, as it all but eliminates the Alabama loophole.

A 16 team playoff is ridiculous. Even an 8 team playoff is ridiculous. Can you really name me 16 teams that are worthy or could win the National Championship. For that matter 8.

I do agree with another thread the bowl tie ins may not produce the best games. But this adding all these teams to a playoff is ridiculous

I wouldn’t. It’s a horrendously terrible idea

I think 8 would be appropriate. Five P5 champs and 3 at large bids. That way G5 have a chance if they go 13-0. It would also pretty much guarantee a 2nd SEC team.

Lets sell the sport out for those that do not belong each year and for big money. The most should be 4 and that s because after that you water down the game.

If anything get rid of every other bowl, at least outside of the NY6.

All conference winners are in. After that you fill out with at large schools. Seeding is determined by BCS formula w/top 8 conference winners hosting the first round. First round games are on campus and at bowl sites from 2nd round on. No more of this bullshite with the Rose and Sugar owning unopposed time slots on NYD.

16 team playoff?

way too many.

there is not nearly enough parity in college football to envision ever needing to allow 16 teams in.

its completely pointless

A 16 team playoff would likely increase parity. It would be a hell of a lot easier for a non blue blood to recruit when you can sell winning the conference means a playoff bid.

The first round would be like the first round of the NBA playoffs... nobody would watch.
