I saw a tweet from a media person that said 1st TWO rounds at on campus sites. No Conference CGs and one off week after the season. No idea about down time between each round.

Other than the week off, most of this is guaranteed.
That’s how it will work logistically.
What will this do to the CFB product?
That remains to be seen.
I don’t think any fans want this, and I think it’s a wash for engagement. Less people will care about regular season games & more people will engage late in the year.

I like the idea of two rounds of on campus games. Those were fun last year.
This will be a real kick in the nuts for bowl games.

A bottom 16 team would have to.
Win their first game to get to 16
win their 2nd game to get to 8
win their 3rd game to get to 4
win their 4th game to get to 2
and win their 5th game to be champion or lose and be runner up. so a bottom 16 would have to win 5 games.

Does anyone give a flying frick about bowl games with opt outs and schools declining invites? For the most part, the kids do not want to play in them.
Those problems are only going to get worse.
Look, there is no question that we are going to 16 at some point, and probably 24. The top 8 spots are going to be EXTREMELY coveted, so the regular season will still matter a lot.

No, but when you're a school paying a kid 6 and 7 figure salaries, they really shouldn't have a choice.
But you are right and bowl games that are non-CFP bowls are done.

5 games plus 12 regular season games that's a lot. How does the revenue sharing work? Do SEC schools share bowl revenues?

They won’t be going to 16, going straight to 24 next year.
It’s going to suck. But I have no problem with missing the playoffs in a 24 team playoff considered a failure. There will be multiple 4 loss teams that can now make it in and we will see tons of blow outs, but oh well.

Any SEC team that doesn’t make a 24 team playoff is a failure.

Probably similar to March Madness considering like 1/3 of power 4 teams will be a playoff team.

I don't think we'll see blowouts. With the top 8 sitting out you have the lower 16 playing the first round. Considering what we've seen this year, most of those should be well contested games, with the winners presumably better matched for the next round.
For so many years a successful season for non blue bloods has been win 6 and make a bowl. Now it's going to be win at least 8. Maybe the blue blood fans won't like it, but for many the season may be more interesting, and certainly the post season will be.
This set up is to be exactly the same as the FCS uses. I certainly enjoy watching that. None of those guys think their seasons are meaningless.

No it doesn't, it's simple common sense. Games like last week UGA/bama (or hell, even last years 3 point battle) are entirely irrelevant. Who cares? UGA and bama can lose 4 games and still make the playoffs. We will have 100+ year old rivalries that used to mean everything now mean nothing.

I agree…and college football is best when it is about the journey and not the destination. Greed destroys everything. I like the mythical title..but top 2 ain’t too bad either.
