To elaborate they would be Auburn. The share the same defensive philosophy, which is evidenced by the coaches who have coached at both schools. They are always talented. Their offenses are up and down. They compete for the conference crown regularly. When they get Vince Newton, they win it all.

That actually isn't a bad comparison. Steady and competitive on a very regular basis minus oddball timing. A good bet to win 8 to 10 a year and be a pain in the arse to a lot of teams.

Auburn is in the same state as Alabama football.

Texas runs shite in their state. Not a good comparison.

I used to read orangebloods for years and it's safe to say they have one of the most entitled fanbases sitting on an island in the corner than any other fanbase in the country. They would not be a fit.

Of course not.

But they'd be a good football team.

Esp after they snagged Saban.

Auburn as a second fiddle is still a more relevant and competitive program than Texas is as a top dog.

They have more money than God and sit on top of the top recruits. They just don't have the right coach.

Texas is arguably the #1 job in College football for to many reasons. I hate Texas but it's the truth.

Alabama and LSU playing Texas every year would be awesome. Especially since AU would probably move to the east!

This is all FAP city though because of the Bevo network on TV. Slive aint havin that shite.

We have our inroad into Texas with aTm, no need to include that other school. Let them waste away in that desolate conference for the time being beating up on third tier Texas schools and never leaving their state to play a game.

Imagine the threads on this site if Texas joined.

I'd never come to the SEC rant

That's a fair point. As I said earlier in this thread, if Texas was in the SEC, Mack Brown would've been fired years ago.

Yea, he couldn't hack it. BMFP would have been a Longhorn instead of a Razorback

Texas would lose to BAMA 37-21 every year.

Texas has the best recruiting setup in college football and it's not really that close. Given quality coaching, there's no reason they shouldn't consistently compete. That doesn't mean they would always win, though. There are multiple SEC programs that could compete with them with a competent coach, but Texas would be the least likely to fall completely off the radar and easiest to bring back.

Disagree. Up there but USC tops them pretty easily IMO.

I disagree. It's not just that Texas has the in state talent, it's that the players grow up wanting to play for Texas. The only thing that keeps them from recruiting at an even higher level is their academic standards, which I believe are pretty high.

Both are really high up there. Notre Dame would be right back with them if they would get off their high horses and join a conference. Bama is top five also, it took a string of completely incompetent coaches to get them around number 25 to 30 in recruiting.

You can disagree but you're wrong.

There are more 18-23 year old kids playing college football from the state of Texas than any other state including California and Florida.

The State of Texas also produced the most NFL players of any state in the country since 2005.

Houston metro is the single biggest recruiting area in the country and it resides in Texas.

Texas is the flagship school of thate state with the most money and the largest brand in the country outside of Notre Dame.

Texas has it all and more yet that is why it's great to watch them not win multiple titles and get beat by OU. The same applies to Texas A&M on a much smaller scale.

Lets be realistic.

Current record..

Texas 7-1-1 vs Alabama all time.
