I just hope he spends as much time coaching as you do on this website. I scrolled down your post history and you literally spent the whole weekend posting on this site. Go outside every now and again.

As one of the innovators of the game of college football.

Opposing coaches will try to have rules changed because of him.

Children will be named after him.

Wives will want to leave their husbands for him.

Opposing SEC coaches will be fired because of him.

Legendary status will be achieved.

Don't get our hopes up.

To answer the question though, he may or may not get a shot at the NFL. I am not sure he'd be able to run his offense the way he likes there or that he would be a good fit in the NFL, though I am fairly certain he'd love to have a shot at it.

Gus is good at coaching offense and unlike some coaches (Petrino) he understands that having a stout defense is important too. He hasn't always had that, but Gus can't be accused of not trying to land the best defensive recruits and coaches that he can.

If he and Auburn are smart they'll stick together. Gus should be good for a few SEC championships with the right players. If not he'll wind up somewhere that really needs someone who can turn a program around.

5 national championships and 8 sec titles over the next 10 years then on to the nfl to win 3 Super Bowls. The man is unstoppable, just ask the majority of auburn fans.

I would think that the Texas job would have been a good fit for Gus. And I mean no disrespect to Auburn by saying that. I just thought that hire could have been very interesting to watch.

If he continues to have success though, I see no reason why he'd want to leave his present job. Good recruiting, program is committed to winning, great conference. Why leave?

Agree, Texas and Malzahn would have been a great fit.
