How will it go for Mullen and Jimbo this year?

Jimbo is a top tier coach but it's been a while since he was in the SEC.
I think he loses to Bama and reverses the recent trend of A&M losing to LSU. However, I am at a loss about A&M and Auburn's matchup, which I believe will be for 2nd place in the West and a major bowl bid. If he beats AU, then I think A&M fans will have extremely high expectations going into year 2 with Jimbo. He's a proven winner and Saban said he's the best OC he's ever had.
For Mullen, depending on the QB situation for UF and FSU, he may be able to get a victory over FSU. I think it's been 6 years now since that happened. That would probably be a major accomplishment for him in the eyes of Gator fans. I'm guessing Gator fans want victories over 2 of the 3 big rivals for them (FSU, UGA, UT). Would that be accurate?
Aside from that the big test would have to be going back to MSU. Seems like Mullen would have a great shot to win that game. He and his entire staff will know all the personnel at MSU and will also be able to prep the Gators for the illegal cowbells. I have a feeling Mullen destroys MSU and loses to UGA, and gets UF to a prominent bowl game. He may commit the crime of setting expectations too high for year 2.

I think most A&M fans are expecting 6-7 wins. We won’t be that good this year with switching schemes and some serious gaps on the roster in critical areas (OL)
As long as we make a bowl and land a top 10 class heavy on the OL, front 7 and CB then I will be fine

Personally, I think you’re expecting too much from both of these coaches in Year 1.
Year 2 should be more likely to show the sort of improvement you’re expecting.

For A&M vs Auburn, no home team has won since we got into the SEC in 2012.
Gus is fricked.

Road team has won every time. Game is at Jordan-Hare. Do the math.

Y'all are gonna need more than those custodians on the sideline to deal with our defense lol

It is funny how both Arkansas and A&M are in many ways going opposite ways in terms of schemes. A&M has a lot more talent to cover some holes early though.

Our OL is gonna be rough which is the biggest concern. We are actually in better shape defensively than a lot of people probably think.
When we transitioned from pro style to spread under Sumlin we were lucky we had an awesome OL in place and a QB that fit the system like a glove. You never know who will emerge when you open up the offense like that.

I'd really like us to beat aTm this year.
Hopefully CCM can get some wins that we haven't had success at getting.

7 or 8 wins for both Jimbo and Mullen.

The QB battle has been the most interesting thing on our end imo. You could list 5 different names and I wouldn't be shocked on any of them starting. Still going to be rough anyway, players are still way too slow.

If I had to pick where Jimbo helps the most, it's on offense of course. So if A&M is in good shape already on defense, then I'd be optimistic about the offense.

You got to think we will have that game circled. If we lose 5 more straight. I'm going to just accuse him of throwing the games.

Not well, as in your post.

In the long run I agree, he will help with overall physically in how we play football compared to the last staff also.
I don’t know if good shape is the right way to put it, I don’t expect us to be really good defensively or anything, I just think we are set up better than some might expect considering how we’ve been on that side of the ball recently. We return a ton of contributors who were young and don’t seem to have several spots on the two deep at DL and LB with walkons or marginal talent like we have in past years

Mullen will have to coach his arse off just to get this roster to 7-5. Outside of RB, CB, and DE, I’m not sure we have a single position group in the top 10 of the conference. DT, MLB, and QB are huge holes on this team, and those aren’t good spots to be your weakest links. It could be a really long year, and reinforcements are commiting to other schools as soon as they leave campus. Doesn’t look like it’s going to get better anytime soon.

I don't know about Mullen, but the top priority for Jimbo is to get his buddy Coach O that large contract extension he deserves for all the good gumbo.

I think both have 8-4 campaigns or close to it.
