Spurrier left and we hired the Zooker, cementing mediocrity for the next few years.

Fulmer is still there with a loaded roster (like he had every year)

Casey Clausen comes back. That guy was a really solid QB.

We handed you the SEC on a silver platter.. please explain to me what on earth happened??

It's been a hot minute since then but I've always blamed Kelley Washington. I don't know that it was him specifically but that's how it started. He was a fame/locker room problem and things began to spiral out from there.

Hobnail boot happened… sent them back to the stone ages. They never fully recovered. They had moments but declined rapidly.

LSU ended that program for 20 years.

They just recovered.

Miami is still in shambles.

Fulmer sat on his arse and tried to ride his laurels, and spend his time worrying about his Texas Roadhouse investments.

*sigh*

Beat UT for an SEC Championship/ended their National championship hopes for that year.

LSU then wins a Natty 2 years later in 03.

LSU then beats UT in another SEC championship en route to another Natty in 07…

What do you define as “not doing shite”?

None of it is relevant to what happened internally. Tennessee's problems were 100 percent internal and they remained that way until the Schiano Revolt forced out the AD and reset the power structure (Haslams and related factions lost a lot that day).

Pruitt's firing finished that reset because it also forced us to stop delaying the AD hire (Fulmer had been brought in after the Schiano Revolt as an interim AD and should've been replaced long before Pruitt was fired but the power players didn't want to move on that because with a real AD rather than an interim their petty squabbles and the power structure would change).

AD Danny White was the first real AD we've had since Doug Dickey retired. The absence of a functioning AD is what started and continued our decline. The presence of one is why every sport at UT is finally back on track.

The truth. UT was killing it recruiting the Atlanta area until Richt arrived. UGA had been through some horrible coaches since Dooley. Goff was a nightmarish mistake, Donnan was a joke. When Richt came in he made it a point to keep the top Georgia players in state. He also brought the FSU offense to Athens which at the time was very efficient.
UT was not the top dog anymore.

No you didn't. You idiots give yourself way more credit than you earned. You didn't end UT's program, You didn't run Bryant off who had dominated you, you didn't have the first gameday in 1997, the first gameday was in 1993 with ND vs FSU. You are not what you think you are to the rest of us. Richt ended Fulmers reign, Bryant retired after losing to Auburn and there were about a dozen gamedays before they made their way to Baton rouge for UF-LSU 1997. Bama, UT, UGA have much more illustrious histories and quite frankly, LSU is not a threat now and are fading even more with the rise of UT. Baseball season will be here soon enough and you can claim this blueblood BS status in that sport.

LSU broke them, and I watched it happen in person. Never seen so many sad red roses in the garbage cans

Rodney Garner left Tennessee and went to Georgia happened. Garner was bringing in all those Georgia kids to Tennessee and Richt was smart enough to do whatever it took to get him to Georgia. But the biggest problem was when Cutcliffe left Tennessee. He was the reason the TN offense was so good in the 90’s. Fulmer and Garner were bringing in the recruits and Cutcliffe was coaching up the offense and they were rolling. When they left, Fulmer became lazy and also hired bad assistants. Then of course there was all the awful head coaching hires and other shite but I tired of remembering it.

A larger factor in their demise was that their recruiting pipeline to Georgia got welded shut.
