Like all schools that do, well organized bagmen who secure top 5 talent with elite NFL talent at the skill positions and an NFL QB who trusts an elite OC. Coach O is the mascot and his players will play on fire for him...when they aren’t sitting out or holding out for a few hundred more Gs

Better question since LSU was really good that year .. How did Georgia let Alabama come back and win in 2017??

This is why it must suck to be a Bama fan. For all of your success under Saban, including last season, you're still focused on the one that got away.

Well to be fair, Alabama wins so often it’s the losses that standout. If something happens 99 times out of 100, it’s hard to remember each specific 99 individual times but that one time stands out. Although I think that’s what drives the team and Saban instead of making them complacent. So it’s a double edge sword.

Honestly of the last 10 LSU-Alabama games, the one that stands out for u is the one time LSU won, all other 9 times they lost I am sure it’s a blur that all blend together.

He had the right people in place...staff & players. He's a great motivator and pretty good coach himself. I think he's a great fit, and could win anywhere.

Basically he did what Miles couldn’t or refused to do. Orgeron said it himself- very easy to come to a place like LSU and win.

Hell yes - joe Brady was a very big reason, and burrow, and talent, and aranda and everything else.

What Miles stubborn egotistical arse couldn’t do was let his coaches coach. O obviously learned quite a bit from his failures at ole miss, along with time with Carroll and whoever else.
Hire whoever with a job for them to do- and let them do it. Be the figurehead, cheerleader, and all that- be the CEO.

And - we will see if that philosophy is a sustained successful approach. Obviously worked in 19’. Obviously failed last year - now we can say between opt outs, and all coaches leaving - yes that had an effect - but, in this approach - the biggest thing Orgeron needs to get absolutely right is his hires. Hell- between Canada and pelini we have already flushed what $5mm?

We can defend him/or joke about him all we want - but no two ways about it- this is a very serious year for him. I don’t think Woodard is gonna let him play trial and error with coaches to get the “right mix” for another 2019

Is that the same guy that put up ZERO vs Bama in 2018? I might be mistaken.

How does Bama let someone go from puting up 0 at home to 46 on the road in one season?

Yeah- I liked stallings. Especially when he slapped Miami in the mouth for NC. Took that Miami cockiness/swagger whatever the hell they called it and whipped their arse.

Wasn’t that when Miami showed up at airport - and all of them were wearing concrete camo and shite?

^^ Lmao this comment truly spews hilarious envy...
Jefferson was a 3* undersized recruit; so I don’t think that he was running into the “bagman” to often... Also Burrow was a 4* and a backup transfer so I also wouldn’t say he was “elite nfl talent”. Nor would I consider the unknown 29 year old offensive assistant with only 2 years experience, previous William and Mary linebackers coach; “AN ELITE OC”.

Those adjectives you used are the result of what they did on the field at Lsu in ‘19. Prior to that you probably had no clue who they were; so why not give the credit where it is due; to LSUs coaching staff that developed them into what you know of them now...

He was a good one at Alabama. But a month before Alabama hired him he couldn't even get an interview with Navy. Navy.

If you're going to dump on Orgeron you can't act like Stallings was any great football coach.

Gene Stallings put 11 men on the line over and over in a national championship game against an opponent that had the heisman winning QB and a list of future NFL players, was heavily favored to blow Alabama out, and kicked the shite out of them doing so.

You aren't even strong enough to lift the wheel barrel needed to carry his balls.
