Did you have any other offers? Where would you have gone if football team didn't matter?

Not at all, I didn't grow up an Alabama fan.

I had several other options but they gave me the best scholarship package so that's where I went.

Minimal.

I was already accepted into 7 schools (both flagships in state, Duke, Penn State, Cornell, and Florida).

I didn't decide on A&M until 2 months before I graduated.

0%. Why would the football team affect my choice on education?
I went to UGA because it has the program I wanted at the time.

Haha, if we're being really honest, at 18, Auburn football was about 95% of the reason I went there. The other 5% was for girls, but they would have been solid at other options too.

I love Alabama football, but couldn't turn down a full ride to Troy University. Can't let football sway a decision like that too much.

I didn't like either campus.

None. I looked at LSU, Arkansas, SMU, Ole Miss, and Alabama.

SMU's tuition was just absurd, and the rest of the schools were no better or worse than LSU. I got out of state waved for all of them, but it still wasn't worth going out of state.

I'm certainly going out of state for grad school though. 6 years in Baton Rouge is far too long of a stay.

Could have gone to the USAF Academy or Baylor, but my heart was in Aggieland from jump street due to the family connection. Had a family connection with the University of Michigan, too, but A&M was better for ROTC. Plus, it's too cold in MI

Football wasn't a factor in my final decision, but I'm not going to pretend that going to more Aggie games than I could count growing up didn't have an influence.

Sometimes I regret my college choice. Well, maybe not regret, but sometimes I wish I had gone to a smaller school and continued to play ball. I missed sports a lot more than I thought I would.

I certainly didn't chose Alabama because of football considering I entered school 6 months after the entire Fran/Price/Shula/Ncaa fiasco.

Going to games with my dad for years, even though most of them sucked, did me in.

Bama was wrapping up a 6-7 campaign with Mike Shula at the helm when I made my decision.

Needless to say, football wasn't priority #1 when I decided on Alabama. Worked out though.

If you're basing your college decision on a football team, you probably aren't college material.

That said, I'm from Ohio and had other offers but Alabama gave me the best scholarship package for my undergraduate degree. '99 wasn't the peak of Alabama football anyway.
