I somehow missed this one:
Jimbo Fisher will be announced after the A&M game
The first two threads seem to indicate thta at least one peson wants Jimbo Fisher. And while many of the other threads are engative towards Fisher, it seems odd that LSU fans are arguing with non-existent LSU fans about hiring Jimbo Fisher, does it not?
Add in all of the threads on THIS board (All of those are on the Coaching changes board as you suggested) it seems there are an awful lot of lSU fans that sure think a lot about Jimbo Fisher.
"He's awful!"
"We are going to "steal" him from A&M!
"What is A&M going to do when we take Jimbo Fisher from them?"
It seems plain that LSU fans do not give Texas A&M or Jimbo Fisher a second thought.

Everyone just calling him stupid like a 12 year old but isn't really addressing what he said.
It is year 4 for him and what has he done with that big arse contract he has?
Hopefully after year 8 and he still hasn't done shite yall keep that same energy by calling someone else stupid.
Rinse and repeat

You know what? I just looked at it again, and you are right. It appears as if I owe you an apology.
In fairness to me, I am not the only one that took it the wrong way/
However, I do see what you mean after looking at it and engaging my brain a second time.
Therefore a public and sincere apology from me to you is in order.

And to answer the thread honestly, if anyone cares to have actual discussion. It takes time to build an elite program, and there are some stumbling blocks along the way.
Clemson was known for "Clemsoning" away big games while they were building up to their multi-title run. Georga has been catching shite on on here for years for losing 1 or 2 key games a year while they've been building towards this season with arguably the most talented roster in the game.
Jimbo is building our program towards a Clemson-esque run of playing for multiple titles, and there is a very real chance of getting there in the next few years.
Clemson is on the downturn, Georgia's time is now. And I believe A&M's is coming next. But right now we're still in the almost-there phase where the culture of winning is being built, but is not deeply enough ingrained yet to play at top ability every week. We will get there.

While I'm not happy with this season, if you would have told me we go 9-3 or 8-4 after the Miss St game I would have been shocked. Calzada has shown some flashes of what he could be against Alabama, but he's nowhere near consistent enough to lead this current A&M roster to an SEC Championship or National Championship.
This year we came out and completely shite the bed in 3 games. I don't completely blame that on Calzada. We have 3 or 4 position players that are some of the best in the nation at their position. Jimbo has struggled to get the ball to his playmakers. His offense is way too "Live by the QB, die by the QB". The focus of this offense with Calzada should be get the ball out of his hands ASAP to playmakers in space, and thats on Jimbo.
That being said, as long as we are going to SEC championships I think he retains his job. You have to ask yourself who is a better option for a head coach? LSU is running into that problem or there wouldn't be so many rumors of them wanting him. You either steal an established head coach from another program or roll the dice on some unproven up and comer. As we've seen with t.u. , that can set your program back 8 years if you make the wrong choice.

Depends on your measurement. If your measurement is has he won a Championship then he is a failure. If your measurement is the direction of the program and the likelihood of winning in the future it's a very different story.
If Jimbo beats LSU here in a bit that will be 3 of 4. LSU has zero recruits from Texas and Jimbo may be getting 2 of the Top 5 from Louisiana. That's a very, very different story than when he started.
Sumlin caught lightning in a bottle and beat Bama his first year with JFF but never was able to build anything with it. Jimbo has been slowly but steadily building the recruiting at A&M and beat Bama by physically overpowering them which is not an easy thing to do. The direction of recruiting is such that A&M is not going to be going into that game with a significant talent deficit and it's even possible A&M has an advantage in the next couple of years.
I freaking hated the 3 losses this year. All were games A&M could/should have won. That said State, Ole Miss, and Arky are all very good teams and it's not like we lost to scrubs. We just need more depth and better QB play to survive in weeks when the team is playing flat. That once again goes back to recruiting.
You keep or fire coaches based on the future direction and not the past. It's pretty clear the future for A&M is rising if you look at the big picture. There also isn't a coach in the land not named Saban that you could realistically expect better results from in the next 3 years. Jimbo is about to sign the best Recruiting Class since '87 when we last had the #1 Class. That's why we locked up Jimbo and we are going to see where he takes us. If it doesn't work out fortunately we have the money to solve that problem as well but personally I will be surprised if A&M doesn't have an SEC Championship and Natty in the next 3 years. That said I am sure they will evaluate every year and act accordingly.
As to specifically why A&M locked up Jimbo it is simply a matter of wanting to make sure we didn't have to worry about him being poached. $100 million is a lot but when you consider our AD is likely going to be hitting $250 mill a year and we are about to drop $300 mill on facilities it only makes sense to invest in your coach if you think he is the guy. The biggest risk of derailing A&M isn't Jimbo losing and being replaced, it is Jimbo winning and then being hired away. That would be far more damaging.

And LSU this year should have. That win is not saying much. Bama’s O and D are both not good.

I say keep extending Jimbo’s contract as long as he keeps bringing great recruiting classes and past Saban’s retirement. Once Saban’s gone the SEC West could be more wide open and I’d like our chances even more at that point for sure.

I'm assuming you have an answer for that. But if you don't. This is the answer. You want the best of the best of the best for your new coach.

I think Jimbo is either .500 or 1 game combined against Alabama, LSU and Auburn since taking the Texas A&M job. 2 of the teams had historically great seasons and won championship.
2-2 vs. Auburn (won last 2)
1-3 vs. Alabama (won last)
2-1 vs. LSU (soon to be 3-1)
