But.. would you take Beckwith or Foster in the middle?

in the middle, yes i would

If I had to go with just one, I'd take Foster as I think he's more versatile...but since Bama plays with 2 ILBs, wouldn't be an issue...

They will be very good regardless of who stays. They virtually had two sets of 1st string guys on defense. I would expect 'Bama to be the highest ranked SEC team come September, with Ole Miss, LSU and UGA tagging along behind, somewhere in the top ten.

This is not meant to be a slam at LSU ... but there is not a single returning player on LSU's defense that could "start" at Alabama next year. Some could probably log some playing time however...

This is in no doubt a slam against you. You my friend are one stupid dip shite if you truly believe that statement

I hope they all freaking return because I want zero excuses when we smoke that arse in Tiger Stadium this year!

Perfect example of why I rarely engage my LSU friends in technical football talk. Every year it seems they get starry-eyed about LSU's prospects and become enraged by the mere suggestion that maybe there are some question marks.

Just look at this guy...insults, cussing, red-in-face, cheeks puffed out like a fat 8-year old mama's boy ... and not one fact. He names not one returning LSU defensive player that he says would start on next year's Alabama defense. Actually as we have seen there may be some... but instead of discussing it, he just acts like an azz. well, an azz passes one thing and it isn't food for thought.

Being unable to name individual players that are better than their counterparts on Alabama should make one pause and think. Lets expand the case to include the offense. Let's expand it to include other teams. Now you may have the start of an honest appraisal of who has the better prospects next year and what could be done to enhance the team performance, recruiting, etc.

Pocic returning is a big deal, probably the most important keeper unless Beckwith decides to come back. But not many LSU players would plug into the Alabama "starting" 44 next year in my opinion.

You are welcome to your... whatever it is.. just don't have apoplexy when someone questions LSU's roster.

Here's another thought my friend.

Let's suppose that next year LSU wins it's way into a championship game of some sort which means they face a team that is potentially as strong in talent as they are. Miles and staff are preparing a game plan to beat the other team.

Here is a list of coaches and schools he could be coaching against. Which coaches are you confident he could prepare a game plan to beat? Keep in mind the complexity, adjustments, execution, of the plans exhibited by Alabama and Clemson.

How does this thought fit into your idea of LSU's prospects next year?

Miles vs Urban Meyes – Ohio State
Miles vs Dabo Swinney - Clemson
Miles vs Jim Harbaugh - Michigan
Miles vs Mark Dantonio – Mich State
Miles vs Bob Stoops - Oklahoma
Miles vs Jimbo Fisher - FSU
Miles vs Kirby Smart - Georgia
Miles vs Art Briles - Bayler
Miles vs Jim McElwain – Fla.
Miles vs Butch Jones - Tennessee
Miles vs Mike Gundy – Ok State
Miles vs James Franklin – Penn State
Miles vs Dan Mullen – Miss State
Miles vs Jim Mora – UCLA
Miles vs Mark Richt – Miami
Miles vs David Shaw – Stanford
Miles vs Larry Fedora – North Carolina
Miles vs Hugh Freeze – Ole Miss
Miles vs Bret Belima - Arkansas

I am just happy Foster adjusted the way he hits. I was really afraid he was going to paralyze himself the way he started.

Actually you should look up Les' record vs coaches who have won a Natty and compare it to the record of those coaches you listed. I think you would be surprised.

Seriously, have they never looked at Bama's record there?

26-8-2 Hell I thought they were going to start charging us for the taxes on the place since we went almost 30 years playing there without losing. Some guy named Saban was the coach that finally broke the streak.

Beckwith is softer than charim. He's a good pass rusher. As a MLB he has no instincts and gets pushed back repeatedly by inferior guys

No doubt. Not to forget that nowadays, half of his tackles would be called targeting. He was dangerous to everyone.

What about the other 2 dozen posters from several different schools that listed several players?

I can't tell if you're the GOAT troll, drunk 24/7, or just mentally challenged. Whichever it is, I find it highly entertaining.

You really take the cake sun god. No "2 dozen posters from several different schools have listed several players." Are you having hallucinations or something? Reading in a parallel universe maybe?

Three players were mentioned as being good enough to play for Alabama's defense next year; Beckwith, White and Adams. A fourth, Godchaux, received a mention for possible playing time, not "starting." He was rejected. Key was redshirted at Alabama.

Beckwith and White are most likely gone to the NfL and thus do not count. And if you think Godchaux could take the place of.... well, absent significant improvement, he would be lucky to get any playing time.

That leaves Adams who could compete for a starting slot on the defense...against 5-star recruits I might add. Thus, one returning player off of LSU's defense could possibly start for Alabama on defense next year...one... let that sink in your entertained cranium.

Shite... nevermind. It is hopeless to talk to people wearing mardi-gras colored glasses. Go study your own roster. I've already done it.

Who in the secondary would White beat out? Same for Adams.

I would take Adams over any Safety we have right now.
