Alabama, USC, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma have all had more success than LSU off the top of my head.

I mean obviously you care so much that you butted into a conversation that wasn't even directed at you.

Why do you care?

Thank you but we won't.

I will be pulling for Georgia to get the 1980 monkey off their back this season.

May we discuss National Championship Games that were won?

Your list will drop off like flies.

There is a reason for that.

Any SEC fan should know what it is.

You can count them but off the top of my head I think the top 5 are

Alabama
Notre Dame
USC
Oklahoma
Ohio State

Ya won in '03 because you had the GOAT CFB coach. He ain't coming back

Yep. We had a president with the foresight to override the athletic director, and hire Nick, a virtual unknown at the time, who was able to dominate recruiting in Louisiana, unlike previous head coaches, and look what it got us: totally cucking probably the best Georgia team of all time (two wins in one season) on our way to a national championship.

Ya got in the NC game in '07 with 2 losses to unranked teams and a bizarre set of losses by teams ranked ahead of you the last 2 weeks of the season. The odds of all those things taking place again are almost zero.

Yep. We won the SEC championship and clinched a spot in the national title game with our backup qb, when everybody else in the country choked when it was on the line. Then we went on to run the score up on heavily favored Ohio State in the NC. That was our most legitmate NC of the three, with probably our worst head coach of the last three.

'19 was a perfect storm with an all time LSU QB that transferred in,an excellent DC and "passing game" coordinator that are all gone.

Yep. Good for us! We backed into a title with the shrimp boat captain after he SMOKED Kirby in the SEC Championship. Good times...

the football Gods have been very, very kind to LSU.

Yep. And they gave us Scott Woodward, who will hire our most competent coach since Nick Saban this upcoming offseason. It's an exciting time. Looking forward to four with four consecutive head coaches.

1980.

I’m going to have to go through the history books.

I don’t recall Notre Dame ever winning a National Championship Game.

Oklahoma?

How many did Ohio State and USC win?

How many has LSU won?

An AP title is not a National Championship Game.

You have to play in the SuperBowl to win the SuperBowl.

You don’t get voted to be the SuperBowl winner.

Good Grief - nothing worse than dudes several beers down arguing minutia over who won what where before they settled it on the field.

Alabama was good. LSU was good. Kentucky was not good. Ohio State was good - but frick them, they're Yankees. Florida was good for a bit. USC was good - but Lex Luthor dropped the ball when he didn't put that nuke on the San Andreas Fault. I've never forgiven Gene Hackman for pussying out like that. Come on Gene !!! Don't cuck out for those tits. There will be others.

My point being - there are plenty of good SEC schools with excellent history - including National Titles. Lets not fight so much, fella's. We're all in the same dysfunctional family.

But it's very easy to understand why LSU fans want to pretend that college football began with Nick Saban's arrival there, because till Saban they hadn't won a national title since the the segregated 1950s.

I mean you pretend nothing before the SEC counts.

Seems hypocritical.

They just said in this very thread that there was never a national title game before the BCS.
