Ah yes, my other favorite tradition on this site: get triggered and then baselessly accuse somebody of being somebody else

Also, more delicious irony:

not much. now do Texas over that time period.
In that time period:

Auburn - 2 coaching changes
Texas - 1 coaching change

Again, I feel like this wouldn't be so easy if you didn't graduate from such a dogshit school

ETA Auburn has won a NC and played for another since Texas' last Big 12 championship. Yikes.
Yes - please remind us how 2010 and 2013 are going to help your school that is more worried about hiring philandering coaches than it is winning

Holy frick this is too easy. #97

Yeah, I'm those two guys, a UT fan, Aggy,

Daniel
Alti

I can edit if I remember who else I've been accused of being.

Yeah, I think OP forgot Saban actually coached and won the SEC at another school not named Bama.

Or perhaps too young to remember that.

Love how you put Auburn in there , and Not Texas or AM or Florida who have a huge recruiting advantage. In my opinion, expansion was the last thing Auburn needed.

Not sure how AU is on a higher tier than Florida, Texas, and Tennessee.

Interesting that every time the SEC expands, it’s during a down period of Auburn football, but we quickly rebound in Year 2 of expansion:

1991: Auburn goes 5-6
**League expands with Ark and SCar**
1992: Auburn goes 5-5-1
1993: Auburn goes 11-0

2011: Auburn goes 8-5
**League expands with A&M and Mizzou
2012: Auburn goes 3-9
2013: Auburn goes 12-2; SEC Champs; National Runner-up

I think Freeze will have us competitive for year 1 of the new 16-team SEC, but by his third season (Year 2) we should be back to full strength and can keep this pattern going.

Dude, Auburn is on the 2nd to the bottom tier now.

Dude. The last time Ole Miss won the SEC, your program celebrated it with a Klan rally. If you can’t come close to winning a title since integration, maybe sit this one out.

I’m well aware. I was in college when Saban was at LSU.

But Saban didn’t revolutionize the SEC when he was at LSU like he did at Bama. He only had one season out of 5 in which he lost fewer than 2 conference games.

When Saban came to Bama he added a huge staff with analysts, etc and it completely changed the game. It took everyone else a few years to catch up, and some are still trying to get there. And that includes Florida.

Expansion benefits Auburn more than any single SEC program.

In 2024 we get to play Vandy, Kentucky, and Missouri all in the same season. We haven’t had a slate of three winnable conference games like that in more than two decades. Of course some got that benefit every season…

Auburn has won the SEC 7 times since 1983. UGA has 4 in that timeframe. LSU has 7. Tennessee has 5.
because 40 years makes more sense than 50?

Add 10 more years and UGA gets to 8 SEC Championships

Auburn stays at 7

The teams with huge resources are all capable of winning the SEC. That's going to be Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, Texas. Probably a couple others.

Florida has been spending big money on facilities and seems to have worked through its NIL woes. So, certainly capable of getting big-time recruits now.

And Florida has won 8. Had another vacated. And two more years where they had the best record but were on probation.

11 times in the last 40 years UF was the best team in the SEC but Auburn is a tier above them. Ok

Every accomplishment in Florida history was won between 1991 and 2008. Florida literally had an epic 17-year run and has jack squat to show for during the other 100 years of its existence.

You have 1 championship in 70 years this is the most asinine post ever. How is Auburn an elite program

One could argue Florida accomplished more in that 18 year window than Auburn has in 100
