Sophomore in High School. My best friend was the epitome of a bandwagon UGA fan that year just to get under those of us Gator fans skin.

I was 8 in 1980, and like previously mentioned I was into my Star Wars figures, but that was the first year I kept up big time with college football. I started keeping up with the NFL the year before, and added MLB and NCAAF in 80. I bought preseason magazines, kept up with scores, and watched every game I could. Watched UGA play SCar, UF, and ND in the Sugar Bowl. Herschel was the best college player I’ve seen in my time. Man amongst boys.

How many times do you have to get that arse chapped by Georgia fans before you learn to stop this?

Yes, I was alive then! I do remember it was one of Jimmy Carter‘s greatest moments.

Amazes me at how many people think 37 years old is old.

Am I missing something? Our title was 37 years ago, and your parents were not 10 yet?

Sounds like a few didn’t see Herschel play ball. That dude was/is a beast.
