Ab said it best, "A house divided against itself will not stand." A healthy courtship tends to expose little things like, how you feel about spending money, your place of residence, raising kids, and your favorite football team. Not necessarily in that order. When I made first contact in a new relationship I would open the proceedings with a hardy Roll Tide!! Trust me when I say that the path got a lot clearer from that point on. Scheduling a BAMA game around a robust weekend of SEC activity is a must and would then clear up any fundamental doubts about Mrs. Right.
Now, this is the most important part of the entire courtship. Don't rush these things, women can be tricky. And when they finally declare, don't try to change them. Believe what you see. Think of the future little Crimson Tide fans you may be making. Remember, 'If a trumpet makes an indistinct sound, who'll get ready for the battle?"

Interesting topic. Thanks for posting it!
Most of my family went to Arkansas and one of my grandfathers played football when we were the Cardinals.
One daughter graduated from Vanderbilt and was there during Franklin's tenure as coach so she had a great time. She did a residency at OU
The next daughter graduated from Alabama during Saban's reign and was there for at least two if not three NCAA championships.
The next daughter also went to Alabama but after a year missed her mama, friends and Fayetteville and came back to graduate from Arkansas After several years though, she went to WVU for a second degree
I went back to do a fellowship which included hanging out a bit at the body farm and have a certificate from Tennessee
Lastly, we are pretty tight with one set of in-laws and most all of them live in Louisiana and are over-the-top LSU fans.
Needless to say, like many folks on the board, football season is always the best time of the year!

My wife went to LSU and I’m a Bama fan but she still gives it up even when LSU loses. So that’s cool. But if I ever find the SOB I’ll kill him.

Cousin has two daughters at Ole Miss, one was a cheerleader there, We all go to that game together every year, and there is a lot of good-natured back-and-forth shite talking.
Truth be told, if my son didn't end up going to LSU, Ole Miss was next on the list, along with Alabama.

For all the Texas/A&M divided houses, we know who makes all the money...

13 people total in my family went to Texas A&M.
My girlfriend of 5 years is t-sip and when I told my dad I was dating a Texas grad there was a long pause and he finally said, “some of them are okay.”
Watching the baseball games has been great (for me). This fall is going to be tense.

On paper... sort of. Not in reality though.
Both my wife and I graduated from UGA for our Bachelors. She went back and got her Masters from South Carolina though. She's still a UGA fan, not a Gamecock though so we're not divided in watching sports. South Carolina is just a team she likes to see do well, but not beat UGA.

I’m gonna go to a game in Austin this year with my girlfriend who lives on campus and just wear neutral colors. Think I may go to the Mississippi state game. Really nice football stadium I checked it out this past weekend

My father was born and raised in Louisiana and went to LSU. My mother was born and raised in Mississippi and went to Ole Miss. They met in New Orleans and got married. I grew up in a house divided, but my house is 100% LSU, as me and my wife both graduated from LSU. Always follow your Father’s lead!

I wouldn't marry a woman if she couldn't root for my team. That would be the first of many red flags to come on her.

I fricking hate those "House Divided" vanity plates. Like anyone actually gives a shite.
I want to get a "House Divided" plate where 12 of the SEC schools are on one side, and OU and Texas are on the other.
We had it all, but we just couldn't leave well enough alone.
