There's several names being tossed around by the media that are clearly given to them by the agents of these coaches because they're fishing for a raise.

That's only if you believe all the internet rumors. Bet you think jimbo was offered last time. Nobody ever verified that story. Only thing that came out was LSU was prepared to offer jimbo, Never came out that he actually was.

Everyone's having fun kicking lsu while yall are down, but dont let anyone kid you, its a great job and there are only a very small handful of better ones out there. Culture like no one else, and a fanbase unlike any other....keep yalls chin up...it'll work out.

Obviously they need someone like the OP so that LSU doesn't have to deal with anyone declining the job.

Dont you both have 4 national championships? I could make an argument that theyve done much more with less.

It's going to be a miserable month or so for LSU fans because any desirable candidate is going to be coaching into the post-season.
If the new guy is currently employed, I wouldn't expect an announcement until after the regular season, but possibly before EOY. They'll risk teams poaching players and HS recruits not committing to the early signing period.
