Regardless of this season, I doubt Richt's job is in any danger

Well, if Auburn's AD was at UGA---Richt would have been sent packing after the GT loss.

I hope UGA realizes that Richt is a great coach---unlike Auburn, they really effed up if you ask me

Everyone I've talked to from UGA likes him.
I haven't noticed much discontent.

Most people thought the same thing about Tubberville. I agree Richt is safe, but I thought Tubberville was also. And didn't the Auburn fanbase like Tubby?

If Stafford is gone, Georgia is going to have a tough time finding 8 wins next year. They will have a year much like LSU of 2008, maybe worse because Mallory/Peveto are actually better than Martinez.

quote:

Willie Martinez was promoted to Defensive Coordinator in 2005 after serving four years as part of Mark Richt's original staff as secondary coach at UGA. He had previously served three years as the secondary coach at Central Michigan University and the assistant head coach in 2000 before joining Richt at Georgia

Oklahoma State at Stillwater, Okla. LOSS
South Carolina * Athens, Ga. ????
Arkansas * at Fayetteville, Ark. ????
Arizona State Athens, Ga. WIN
LSU * Athens, Ga. LOSS if LSU gets a solid DC
Tennessee * at Knoxville, Tenn. WIN
Vanderbilt * at Nashville, Tenn. ??? (one would think win, but for some reason Vandy always plays Georgia tough)
Florida * at Jacksonville, Fla. LOSS
Tennessee Tech Athens, Ga. WIN
Auburn * Athens, Ga. WIN bc Auburn will be in disarray
Kentucky * Athens, Ga. WIN
Georgia Tech at Atlanta, Ga. LOSS

I work with a UGA fan. Everybody clowns him all the time b/c Georgia is always in a rebuilding year.

I live in Georgia. UGA fans like Richt. He fits well here. He is a strong Chrisian and that goes over well. He is a very good recruiter as well.

Richt is well liked as a person/face of the program. Fans are also happy with his performance to date. He has brought uga more success than we have had since Dooley's heyday. That being said there's a lot of restlessness about his loyalty to the D coordinator. This could blow up in his face. I remember when Dinardo seemed untouchable and essentially his loyalty to Tepper brought him down.

We love Richt here, its his loyalty to his coordinators we have a problem with.

UGA will be pretty good next year, even with Knowshon and Stafford gone. We are stacked at running back and we have a very MAtt Flynn-like quarterback as Staffords backup (Cox). What killed UGA this year was injuries on both lines...those guys will be back and the lines will be stacked next year, barring injuries. We will compete for the SEC east, just like always. Trust me, we are not panicking here in Dawg Country.
