Ok Van Buren isn’t the Messiah.

Give Ricky Collins a shot.

say we keep Frank and go out and buy an OL. That's the only missing piece. MVB can win with a quality/SEC OL.

No! No! No! This would be a kiss of death for the LSU football program. FW isn’t ready to be LSU’s HC.
quote:

LSU's entire athletic department will suffer from this. Verge isn't just a lifer but he's an inconsequential lifer who is a figurehead (for the Governor). I voted for Landry but Landry has turned LSU into amateur night at the Apollo.

Landry has done to Louisiana what Trump has done to America.

If we are being honest, once it was apparent we were the dominant team in 2019, we started to get calls. We didn’t need them given our output, but we were getting them.

There was a PI by LSU in the 4th quarter that would have pulled Clemson within a TD that wasn’t called.

SEC office protects SEC teams in contention for post season runs

Have thought the same.
I’ve seen same games and calls yoi have. The Patrick Peterson interception/non interception still blows my mind. How does that shite happen and no one is ever prosecuted?

I worry that we are one bad hire away from being mediocre for years. I hope we get this hire done correctly and we can get our NIL funds pumping. Having everyone going in the correct direction from coaching to funding would be the quickest way into our next championship!

I agree completely.

ND's schedule and he was a better coach then. His teams played smart and had good fundamentals. He was checked out by the time he got here.

So, if he was checked out, and I’m not suggesting he wasn’t, how come Woodward didn’t see that.? I’m not trying to bash Woodward again, but seriously, Woodward is supposed to be able to evaluate.
It’s because of the Governor. No quality Coach with options is going to come to LSU unless he has assurances that he will not have to deal with Landry.
quote:

You realize that members of the BOS are appointed by the governor right?

Yes but they still need to have some balls and speak truth to power.
I think someone from the BOS needs to issue a press release saying clearly that Gov Landry will NOT be involved. This thing, IMO, is going to scare some potential Coaches away from the job. I’m surprised there hasn’t already been some kind of statement. Or, are the BOS scared of Landry like the Republicans are scared of Trump?

Why would Kiffin want this job

Don’t misunderstand me, I hope LSU gets him but, this is a pressure job. Ole Miss isn’t. LSU wants championships; Ole Miss would like championships but in the end, they want their team to look respectable they enjoy a mint julep in the Grove.

re: Perkins had a BAD night

Perkins had a great Freshman year. Downhill since.
quote:

He was responsible for getting us Dalton Hilliard! Legend!

Stovall recruited him. He and Garry James were the “stud recruits” in that class. James got hurt and Hilliard started 1st game and stayed ahead of James.
quote:

you think about it, Kelly, Orgeron, and Miles all seemed to have quit on the job and took the buyout. Saban left only to return to Bama and haunt LSU. Why is that?

Saban left to scratch the “pro itch” with Miami. Then, realized he had made a mistake and tried to get his old LSU job back.

Miles was fired

Orgeron let the success of the NC go to his head.
Arnsparger was never a long-term man. He was a good Coach but he won with the recruits Stovall stockpiled. He probably didn’t like recruited (Most pro Coaches don’t).
1) I think most of his previous experience was at smaller schools with exception of ND.
2) He didn’t make decisions on needed changes quickly. It was obvious to most observers he needed to at least give VB a shot. Would not do it
3) Early on, some of his transfers and recruits didn’t work out.
4) If he had not been fired, he would have probably averaged out as a 7-4 - 8-3 Coach. That doesn’t win championships.
