Dude, the thread is about LSU and the fans. It isn't about Bama and the fans after losses to teams like Vandy, FSU, OU, etc. You know, the teams that snuck up and beat Bama unexpectedly. We all saw the fallout from that. Hell, we still see the disbelief over OU.

5:42 am and your team is in the playoffs and you want to think about LSU admins future feelings?

Reading this board makes me so much happier about the Lane Hire.

Well, LSU fans have started 12,000 threads in the last two days about to Kiffin.

And you're bitching that someone else from another team starts one?

That's funny...

Since they think they will win next year, I would say one year.

Id say 8 or 9 wins next year given what we have.

But Lane just got one hell of an NIL trove, so we could absolutely do better.

We know Lane will get his QB of choice .

LSU’s expectations are so high right now that the fall is gonna be steep. According to them, it’s Ohio State and them ruling football in the NIL era. Anything less than multiple nattys and they will lose their minds. I give it to year three before they lose patience.

It’s been extremely interesting to hear and listen to the “Saban” angle / narrative from some LSU fans. Not all, but certainly quite a few.

- Lane talks like Nick.
- Lane uses his hands like Nick when speaking.
- If one closes their eyes, they’d almost think it’s Nick.
- Lane was Nick’s gift and expression of personal regrets and peace to LSU.
- Nick always really loved LSU most.
- It seems extremely important to some of them to know what Alabama thinks of all this.

Saban was obviously the one they never could quite get over.

Those old rough around the edge, tough, hardened and excellence- demanding swamp baws have all along just been broken hearted, love-sick romantics who never forgot, stopped being in love with, or held out hope for a return of The One Who Got Away.

Lane doesn’t seem fazed at the moment and I personally think he’s capable of winning big at LSU (provided he demands equal excellence on defense) but I’m not sure even he has encountered a unique challenge like he will face if he doesn’t live up to the expectations of “Saban The Second Coming”.

In my school’s history, it took Tom Osborne quite a long while to emerge from the shadow of Bob Devaney and carve out his own legacy. I’m not sure the state of college football affords anyone that kind of time and grace anymore.

It’s going to be compelling to follow and see how it all plays out.

Your team scraped out a win due to a blown coverage over a high school level offense with a FCS level interim coach and booger eating moron playcaller. I completely understand your concern about having to play us with a real offense.

I think the rest of the SEC will be the ones to “ragret” this hire.

Lane is going to do LSU dirty like he did Ole Miss. I don't think Lane even gives LSU 5 years. Lane's autistic arse will freak out by the retard coonass fanbase camping out outside his driveway.

First of all, I think Kiffin will be successful at LSU. I don’t know what that looks like from a championship perspective. I just think he will do well there.

Second, I hope he is successful at LSU because people have given him so much shite about leaving Ole Miss. Coaching is a profession just like selling insurance and being an auto mechanic, and people are going to leave for jobs that better suit their livelihood and professional ambitions. A fricked up college football calendar just makes it difficult to move on smoothly.

Well, they open the season against Clempson on September 5.

How funny would that be?
