Texas has tough admission requirements. White kids that can't get into Texas end up at Arkansas, Alabama, or Mississippi.
Asian kids are smart AND study.

It is actually pretty good. Nice part of town and cool landmarks to check out as you meander around. We bought tickets to the Surly Horns tailgate and had a great time with their fans.

Everyone wants meritocracy over DEI until they don't.

it's like the texas a&m recruiter i over heard at my daughters high school (flower mound) lady he said if you want your son to go to UT stick him over there at north lake community college he can transfer in the spring. they lose half their freshman class after the first semester.
- UT Austin has the highest four-year graduation rates among public universities in Texas, along with an exceptionally high six-year graduation rate. The idea that half its freshmen leave after one semester is ridiculous.
- Nearly 97% of UT Austin freshmen return for their sophomore year, which directly contradicts the claim that the university loses half its freshman class after the first semester.
- UT Austin auto admits eligible Texas HS students graduating in the top 5% of their class beginning and previously it was 6% (which you probably already know)
- Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Austin have large, highly concentrated Asian American communities, particularly in suburban school districts.
- Texas produces approximately 400,000 high school graduates annually, roughly 20,000 of whom are Asian. Although we don't have the exact racial breakdown of students graduating in the top 5% of their classes, there is reason to believe Asian students are disproportionately represented among those top-ranked graduates.
- If a substantial percentage of those academically competitive Asian students prefer UT Austin over Texas A&M and other public universities in the state, that could help explain UT's disproportionately large Asian undergraduate population.
- UT Austin enrolled approximately 2,426 Asian freshmen in fall 2024, representing 26.3% of its incoming freshman class. Maintaining roughly 2,500 Asian freshmen per year, combined with transfers and students who remain enrolled beyond four years, makes an Asian undergraduate population of approximately 12,000 entirely plausible. That would represent roughly 26% of UT's undergraduate enrollment.
- Approximately 56% of Asian Texas public HS graduates enrolled in a Texas college or university immediately after graduation in 2023. That includes two-year and four-year institutions and excludes students attending universities outside Texas.
- Asian Texas HS graduates who took the SAT and ACT had the highest average scores among the reported racial and ethnic groups. In 2024, Asian SAT test-takers averaged 1,215, compared with 1,064 for White students and 975 statewide. Asian ACT test-takers averaged 26.2, compared with 21.9 for White students.
- UT Austin provides full tuition coverage for qualifying Texas residents from families with adjusted gross incomes of $100,000 or less through the Texas Advance Commitment. That makes attending UT significantly more affordable for eligible students.
- UT Austin has some of the strongest STEM programs in the country and the business programs are also nationally recognized.
- Asian students are strongly represented in STEM disciplines nationally, and UT Austin has substantial Asian enrollment in both STEM and business. These academic opportunities may contribute to the university's appeal among Asian American applicants.
- Given the significantly higher average SAT and ACT scores among Asian Texas high school graduates who take those exams, it's reasonable to hypothesize that Asian students are also disproportionately represented among students graduating in the top 5% of their high school classes relative to their share of the graduating population. However, the exact percentage would require statewide class-rank data.
Btw, I'm white, from St Bernard Parish of all places, and went to LA public schools my whole life just so it helps you digest this better. I know a lot of white people that are absolute idiots.

It's wrong. We deserve to get mocked for it.
Did you graduate in the 1960s or something? Wtf

Let me help you understand - UT is a selective school and is required to admit only the top 5%. Só if white people aren’t getting accepted they need to perform better in high school

Requiring strict admission standards is not discriminatory towards whites.

And to answer your Q, my UT degree is not even double digits old. Many such cases.

and you're more likely to not even be a STEM grad, that's funny. Do better in school in your next life and you could've gotten into Cockrell or CNS.

Pretty frickin terrible, curry or not. It's all corporate, generic, bought and paid for setups that look exactly the same. You wouldn't know yours from someone else's without a sign with the company name on it.
Second week of the season against Ohio St with college gameday in town, and they were still completely empty at 11:30.

I went in 2019 when LSU played them and it was a ghost town. Had a bunch of food trucks on campus because Texas people can’t cook I guess
