Several really good teams: Arky, Bama, KY, Auburn, Tenner.
Some others playing well: MSU, Missouri, LSU.
Most disappointing so far: Texas A&M.
Take Kentucky out of the top group, and LSU out of the 2nd group, and you're on to something.

Tennessee is 100% us last year. Bama came out flat against UCONN but that program is easily a top 5 team in the nation. This board with SEC hoops looking top tier this year is going to be fun

Auburn looks like a round of 32 tournament team with a chance at sweet sixteen. Solid, usually fun to watch, but not likely to threaten for a conference title or deep tournament run.
Nothing wrong with a round of 32 showing. You can show recruits that as evidence you can play in prime time. Just getting to the Big Dance is a big recruiting asset, making it to, say... the Sweet 16 is a real boost.
It is going to be a knife fight in the SEC. There are some really dangerous teams in the conference.

Our women’s team might win it all

Looks like A&M is paying top dollar for mediocre to below average results in another sport this year! Can’t wait!

If true then you guys will be contenders. Nolan had you baws rolling.
Very few of ours starters the last two seasons would see any minutes this year. We're scary good. Expectations are very high.

3 point defense needs work. Offensive rebounding as well. But at least they are fun to watch. Not something I've been able to say for the last 7 years or so.

I really like this Alabama team. Athletic and deep.
However, I still don't think they shoot well enough (especially from 3) for the way Oats wants to play.
Compared to last year they will be able to win more games when they can't hit the three ball because the defense is much better, they have more guys that can create their own shot, and Bediako and Clowney give them a semblance of low post offense.
They got big boy'd by UConn pretty bad, which wasn't that surprising for a team that relies on a lot of young guys.

State is 8-0 with some decent wins. No. 23 in the polls and No. 5 in the NET ranking.
But it’s all defense. No one has broke 55 on them. State-Auburn game might end in the 30s.

same here - it still amazes me where this program now is

quote:Georgia basketball has sucked hind tit since the "Jim Harrick affair." For some reason, I sense that the big money at UGA cares not a fig for basketball. Too bad because the high schools in the state are chock full of elite talent. Hell, UConn won several nattys with Georgia talent. Pisses me off.
No idea. But while UGA is still irrelevant in basketball, we seem to suck a bit less than we did with our last coach. Thanks, UF.

Hogs are still learning to play together. So it’s a work in progress. Did just get Nick Smith on the court, so that’s good.
I’d say like every Muss team, Hogs should hit their stride about mid January.
