The loss to memphis is killing them. LSU too.

We have lost 4 games - two of which were to two bad teams (Memphis and LSWHO).
So that is why we are not ranked. But we can rectify that by continuing to win.
Thank you. Again. I think Mississippi State is on the right track. maybe you have improved as the season goes along. I think a win against Ole Miss will go a long way to gaining respectability. I have nothing at all against MState. I hope you guys do well.

Kansas State (7-3) deserves to be in the top 25 more so than Mississippi State. Wooped a Stanford team who beat #3 Oregon.
Has beaten 2 teams with a winning record(Nevada and Texas Tech by a point). Has played two ranked teams and lost. The Big XII is unadulterated garbage. Next, troll.

6-4 with a loss to a bottom half in G5 conference Memphis and a loss to the worst SEC West team.
They are way overranked as it is in the receiving votes.

Not so much the Memphis loss.
That one got an official statement by the SEC stating that it was officiated incorrectly and the TD awarded on the punt return to Memphis should not have counted.
I think that's why that loss got ignored in the oriignal CFP ranking this year. The LSU loss definitely hurts, as did missing 3 field goals (including one from ~25 yards) against Arkansas.

And they absolutely curb stomped the shite out of Kentucky. Luckily those 2 blocks in the back weren't called on the punt return for ya, so the score doesn't look like the complete drubbing that it was.

This is a good start. 6-4 is another reason. Go 2 and 0 for the remainder of the season and win the bowl game. Then I'd could see a top 15-20 final ranking for MSU. Maybe better than that if a few more teams crap out these last 2+1 games.

That's like saying Florida should not suffer because of their game with Samford. Memphis should never have been in the game if they (MState) are a top 15 team. You can't just ignore a poor performance,
All that said, once the Pirate gets all of his players and they develop some consistency, MState is going to be a handful for all but a couple of teams. They should scare anybody going into a game.

Ranked and undefeated UTSA needed as last second field goal to beat Memphis. Putting them on the same level as Samford is about a dumb as you can get.

I wasn't putting them on the same level as Samford. The point was that you can't ignore bad losses or even bad wins. Memphis nor Samford should have been in either game. At least Florida won their bad game. And do you really want to play the transitive property game? REALLY?
ETA
You are arguing that MState should be ranked in the top 15?

No, I think I'd put State around #22 right now.

Then why are you arguing with me? That's exactly what I have been saying!

(Actually I said between #22-#25)

MS State is unranked and appropriately so. Win against Memphis and LSU or Arkansas, and you're in there. This team was maddeningly inconsistent early in the season and still has lapses here and there. They are top 25 talented, but you have the record that shows that.

I could see haivng them in the top 25 right now. I do agree that some of these G5 teams do not play any kind of schedule and should be discounted. That alone should get MState into the top 25 and probably closer to 20 than 25.
Y'all should be excited about your team. It is exciting to watch them and even when you fall behind you feel like you can come back and win.
Win the next two games and you will get close to 20th, probably, then get ready for next year.

So a Sunbelt team should be ranked over them?

My dawgs have had some bad breaks and it just comes with the territory being a state fan. Some of the misfortunes are our own faults, mainly special teams and some are on the stripes. At this point it is what it is but the good news is State has a chance to go out and win the next 3 and have a nine win season. No-one predicted that at the beginning of the season. And with the bulk of the team returning for next year it seems to be exciting times for state fans. HAILSTATE

I literally had a dream about the Egg Bowl last night-- Leach was winning at halftime and then Ole Miss came storming and won 85-54. After the game, Leach was like "We had 54, which should win you the game on most days, but those boys probably got a little extra shot of cranberry sauce-- I'll take the kind in the can any day, I don't like that stuff with the berries in it".
I don't know why a West Virginia fan living in Colorado is having dreams about Miss St vs Ole Miss, but there it is.

However, even with 4 losses do you honestly believe a 4 loss team deserves to be in the top 15 with two games left? because what y'all are getting so upset about is my saying MState is not a top 15 team
Right now? No
If we win out and finish 8-4 (5-3) with 5 wins against the top 25 and 2nd in the West then yea around 15th is warranted. In 2010 we went 9-4 and finished 5th in the west with only one top 25 win and finished the season 15th
