Of course they can. I don't RA or try to stop them. Troll on.
However, is is trolling if you actually believe in your heart that Florida was scared of playing a football game at home?
That is not trolling. That's insanity.

I don't think anyone truly believes that. It's just a convenient and fun troll.

What would the contingency plan be
To play the game Monday night. That way, you could have waited until Saturday morning on whether or not to cancel the game for the weekend.
If no emergency personnel could be spared, THEN the game would be rescheduled for another weekend.
But Foley didn't even try. No cooperation whatsoever, even in light of Alleva saying that it would be very hard to find a time after the weekend.
Foley didn't care, he wouldn't cooperate, he just cancelled the game on Thursday when he could've waited until Saturday.
Have I mentioned how uncooperative Foley was in the week leading up to the storm?

When Rita hit SW La. it hit a sparsely populated area.
The Wednesday before landfall, no one knew where it would hit. That's when you make contingency plans. That's what LSU was trying to tell Florida, how to make a plan.
It turns out, Matthew never did make landfall in Florida. Much like Rita, the venue was relatively untouched.

Yea, I'm the loser trying to meet up with people who made me mad on the internet
Look, I'm sorry I called you stupid/idiot/tard/teenager. But if you just didn't say so much stupid shite and type like you have all thumbs, I wouldn't have said those things.
Please accept my apology, Othello. If not, then feel free to just give me a shout on here next time you're headed to Nashville. I can't give you a specific date because I travel for my job.
Whee do you live? Maybe we can fight in your chick coop

Actually you've always been a count and today, I'm just calling you out on it. You think you're so funny and so clever but you bring nothing worthwhile to the threads. Your posting is shite, as bad as anyone I can think of. RB10 and CP3 and them guys talk a lot of shite but they talk football. All you do is bitch and take up for LSU. I talk football on here and even have bragged on LSU today, saying they are more talented than Auburn but because you whined and bitched so much in the other thread, I came back in here to show you that you still were not right and you couldn't get over it, so fine either STFU or meet me, but you look like a bitch to me and you always have been and will be.
You're a clown with the vocabulary of an eleven year child and if you had anything of substance to say, you'd be doing that instead.
I go to Nashville a lot, when should I schedule my next visit. I got my travel bag packed.
When taking the Internet too seriously goes wrong.

You've already made up your mind. Is more conversation going to change anything for you?

I don't think they were scared, per say. But I don't think Foley viewed getting healthy as a bad thing.

I don't think Florida was scared, I think Foley didn't like Alleva telling him how to do his job and wanted to turn it into a pissing contest, and he's a sore little bitch now that Alleva/Sankey/whoever put him in his place. The "scared" factor is just a troll.

No one knows the whole story of the conversation
Foley would not cooperate and develop a contingency plan in the week before the storm. He was intransigent.
There is no way around that.
That's why I take exception to his accusing LSU of not being cooperative. He is forgetting a week of LSU's attempts to work together to form a plan.

I think this combined with a November reschedule allowed UF some time to get players back. It doesn't mean he is scared. It means he was trying to put UF in the best position to win.
It didn't work out thought since they have to play in BR. Win some, lose some.

Well, back to the original premise of this thread-- I don't think LSU is the bad guy in this, but I think that Foley threw shade at Alleva in his statement yesterday in response to Alleva publicly blaming UF for the game not getting played last weekend. I can see why Foley would be a little pissed that he did that. At the same time, I can understand Alleva's position to not grant any further concessions when he tried to be accommodating last week. At the end of the day, this was just a difference in opinion on how to handle this thing. LSU fans will side with their AD. Florida fans with theirs. The important thing is the game will be played. That's honestly the only thing any of us, as fans, should really care about.
Honestly, I think this is the best- most honest, non-trolling response to the whole situation. And its probably pretty dead on.
Never thought Id agree with a mouth breathing jort wearer, but hey

I think it came down to this and this alone from Foley's side.
There was no way he was going to allow UF to have three straight away games in BR and he drew his line in the sand and stood by it.
All the other stuff is just noise and we'll never hear the truth anyway so it really doesn't matter.

Anytime, any place U4feitCast.

I'm in Marietta, GA, meet me on Dallas Highway near the Marietta Square, any time I'm in Georgia you fricking clown. But I'm ready to ride to Nashville right now if you have a place.

Agreed. Like I posted earlier in the thread:
quote:
The fact is Foley played Sankey and got the game postponed, thinking it would be recheduled in Gainesville for later in the season. Alleva then turned around and pushed Sankey around refusing to give up a home game and forced UF to accept the bid to play in BR this year, and Gainesville the next two, if they wanted the game played.
If the SECR could manage to stop trying to troll everyone all the time, we could have a discussion about the bigger issue:
How much trouble the SEC is in having Sankey, who was pecker slapped by 2 AD's in less than a week, in charge of this conference going forward.
