How does Saban view the Bama fanbase?
From the chain gang captain's truck?
From the district manager's office of the Skoal Superstore?
From the sales office of Mobile Home World?

Makes sense. I had a patient one time who would laugh at you if you told him he wasn't Jesus Christ.

read the stipend at UA as the total stipend amount of $3,500 and the total value cannot exceed $3,500 . I see what you are saying because it also reads "per year".
it says
quote:
A $3,500 per year Merit/Achievement Scholarship stipend for four years.
which means $3500 per year for four years

It isn't complicated. It says $3500 per year and that an additional corporate amount cannot exceed the $3500 per year in total.
Not sure what is so difficult to understand at all.
quote:
¦A $3,500 per year Merit/Achievement Scholarship stipend for four years. A student must maintain at least a 3.3 GPA to continue receiving this scholarship stipend. If a corporate-sponsored scholarship from the National Merit Corporation is received, the total value cannot exceed $3,500. (For example, if you receive a corporate-sponsored scholarship of $2,000 per year, UA will contribute $1,500 per year to reach the total stipend amount of $3,500.)

Right and I read the part that read and "the total value cannot exceed $3,500 ." Total value means total value

I hope you are not this dense in real life or I am misreading what you are trying to say.
its a max total value of $3500 per year for four years. it even says per year twice in the explanation

quote:Incorrect. It means you will receive a stipend between $4k and $8k and the amount you receive is dependent on eligibility.
You apparently either have terrible reading comprehension skills or something is wrong with your refusal to comprehend something you don't like.
It is plain as day that you must qualify to receive ANYTHING. It could not be more clear.

Agree. I was wrong. Like I said, I read the part that said "total value" and read the part that said per year to mean as a distribution of that amount

What really interested me was the replies of the bammers. If only 'dumbasses' ( I'm taking that as a slight on me) care about what Travis says, what does that say about you posting in this thread?

I think the correct answer is that more people WANT to go to Alabama than they do Auburn. There's nothing wrong with that.
I've never understood the Auburn mindset. "We're special because fewer people want to go here."
And why do more want to go to Alabama? Is it because there are more popular majors that are available? A quick check of the undergrad majors offered by both schools will show that each school offers programs that the other doesn't.
Alabama has an outstanding law school...according to the Princeton Review even more selective than Vanderbilt. Auburn doesn't even have a law school. So if you live in Alabama and want to go into law, where are you more likely to go for your pre-law undergrad program...Alabama, or a university that doesn't even have a law school?

Has an Auburn fan posted a link to any third party who ranks Auburn much higher than Alabama (or even higher at all)? I mean, some moron laughed from his office (ooooooh, an OFFICE!) at USNWR, but if they're an outlier, where are all the rankings that show it?
Alabama fans in this thread - "Alabama and Auburn are pretty close academically, and here is a link to a third party that says so."
A couple of idiots in this thread - "No, because A BUNCH OF STUFF I MADE UP."

Again, this is how different statistics can be used. More selective, ok. Do you really think they're comparable? Vanderbilt destroys Alabama's law school, and is much more difficult to get into.
Of course, Alabama does have a good law school, but I wanted to get that out for clarity.
As for program differences, Auburn is probably at a disadvantage in a state traditionally controlled by one side of this rivalry. I don't think Auburn simply elected not to have X program, I'm sure not competing with the major law program in the state has a lot to do with it. It does in every state.

Probably true, but plenty of people go to AU for 4 years then go to better law schools than Alabama. I know this as I had friends do so. Not sure if that is the most efficient route, but I know people who have done it.

I know four who went to Vandy, after Auburn.

This is amusing.
Thread should be how do Alabama fans and Auburn fans view each other.
