How does Saban view the Bama fanbase?

After reading the Clay Travis article and the Bama Nation's responses, I wonder if Saban is ever embarrassed or fearful of his own fan-base. I have to imagine that he has had some uncomfortable encounters.

He probalby does't think about the fan base much or care. He sees the fans as mostly a recruiting tool so that he probably likes, but he also probably dislikes all the potential outside distraction they cause.
Every single fan base has lunatics and they scream loudest on the internet and talk radio.
The extremist fringe, they represent like <1% of the fan base and seem to be the only people you ever hear from.

Clay Travis - didn't read. Paul Finebaum - didn't listen.
Why would I care what a buck-toothed hillbilly had to say about anything?

Its a tough crowd to play to and to perform up to their expectations. Bama fans expect to win a title every year no matter how improbable it may seem...this is the same fanbase who wanted Bryant fired when he had a couple of down years in 68, 69, and 70.

We're a part of the team. Saban has said so. He praises our performance at games, and sometimes calls us out when we don't perform the way we should.

He was damn near raped by that hag getting off the plane the very first day in T-town. If that didn't send him back to Miami or LSU, then we are good.

He's more concerned that he'll be at a coaches' convention and encounter this monstrosity:

In general, Auburn fans are a lot worse than Alabama fans

Saban probably thinks 10% of the bama fanbase is great and some of the best college football fans in the country. Passionate, knowledgeable fans and good people.
Then he probably thinks the other 90% is a bunch of embarrasiing Updyke inbreds like the rest of us think.

He loves the fanbase.

No one thinks this except the 90% of inbred bama fans. The rest of the country does or should feel sorry for AU for even being associated with the mouth breathers that make up the majority of the bama fanbase.
