Kind of hard to have the job Saban does and not empathise with these young men - no matter what your politics. Just because you don't care enough to admit a killing is unjust doesn't mean a guy who has spent decades raising literally thousands of young black men can do the same.
Everyone knows most of you guys care for these kids no farther than they can throw a football for your entertainment, but even cynical self-interested coaches will be more nuanced.
As for Herbstreet - he's no liberal, SJW. He's a conservative Christian with empathy.
