Midweek games don't count according to our retarded Floridian brothers to the West.

They don't mean much but it's getting to be crunch time. They might mean a little more now. It still doesn't mean too much.

The South Alabama pitcher had a complete game, the second of his career.

Y'all lost to Tulane?
Damn
You know they are ranked like 20th in most of the polls. Not a bad loss on the road in the midweek

they don't for the most part unless you make a habit of losing more than you win, and even then, they still don't matter all that much

I generally agree, but if you lose a mid-week game at home to a really low RPI team (aka shitty team), it does matter.
ETA: and Tulane is NOT a shitty team.

I think they can matter a good deal when deciding between two similar teams for seeding purposes. It's conceivable that it could cost LSU a national seed.

I would be very surprised if LSU got a national seed at this point. We are pretty clearly behind Florida, A&M, and SCar...If they decided to give the SEC four national seeds, I think State would have the inside track to it. We're probably just a regional host this year.

Vandy beat Austin Peay 8-5.

LSU hasn't been in contention for a national seed since conference play began. That ship sailed a long time ago. And the small hope LSU may have isn't hinging on midweek games. They basically have to win the rest of their series and mix in a couple of sweeps to have a chance. But no, a midweek loss would never cost you a national seed. Maybe if you dropped 5+ midweek games it'd make a difference.

Alabama can't buy a midweek win lately. Especially against in-state teams. It's beyond frustrating.

Samford beat Bama

Suppose LSU goes on a tear to end the season, and some other school (say A&M) stumbles enough that it really, really close whether LSU or A&M should get a national seed. In such a circumstance, you really don't think the extra lose on the record makes any difference whatsoever?
