How come people and the media won't just let the lawsuit playout

The situation is a legitimate question, like it or not. We will all know after September 3 and these players will either be on rosters or they will not.
If they win the lawsuit then you will have a lot of Dabo Swinneys out there losing an opportunity to compete, and a bunch of hypocrites who will actively seek out these players..
Not to mention Sankey will look like an idiot along with all the weeping V-jay -jays.
Kiffin is just hedging his bet.

The SEC started this mess by doing nothing about the Chambliss decision which opened this whole idea up to any athlete who also could have gone to court for another year of eligibility. That is exactly what these athletes (most) are doing.
Like it or not, how many would not have gone into the draft if they thought they could get an extra year like Chambliss?
NCAA and SEC allowed it but then said it was not retroactive. Hardly any of these athletes in the lawsuit would have been drafted as high as Chambliss and an extra year would have meant a lot more to them.

Seriously, the SEC and NCAA let the MS Supreme court strip any inkling of them having any power away in one judgement. How is this different?

You probably won't like the answer, but "media" is not just about clicks or views. They like to affect outcomes. Their desired outcomes are not always obvious, but are always present.

Had Commissioner Greg Sankey and conference leadership stepped in and established a firm, preemptive stance on eligibility rules back in February, they could have prevented the current crisis. Instead, their inaction created a blueprint for the current roster chaos. When you act weak you get challenged.

On the other hand, you could say that the NCAA and conference leaders passed 5 for 5 as the only way they could actually fight Chambliss type redshirt exceptions.
Then people immediately used 5 For 5 to open a new Pandora's Box.
