How badly have Tenn fans given up?

This much. A thread on one of their boards.
And the first response was this
Already conceding to Bama. Bama fans may make up half the stadium again.
quote:
2 Lower Deck Tickets available for next weeks game vs Alabama in Knoxville.
Also have 2 tickets (50 Yard Line/Front Row Seats) on Tennessee sideline for the SC game in Columbia, SC on 10/27/2012.
Let me know if interested!

They will. And no one really cares.
Maybe 50k+ opposing fans in the stadium will expedite the process that needs to be done.

It's going to be ugly.
To be honest, I'm more concerned with who will be our head coach next year.

I've always given Dooley the benefit of the doubt. It's just very tough to believe in this guy with these results and the way this team loses. I would hate to start over again, but the results couldn't be much worse by bringing in a new guy. I find it hard to believe someone else couldn't beat Miss St with the players UT has. Patterson is wasting away in orange.

Start over? Exactly what has been accomplished that a coaching change is going to cause us to miss out on?

Player attrition? A whole new coaching staff, again. It has to be done, but I did follow up my comment by saying the new guy couldn't do worse...which already answered the question you asked after you aparently read my whole post.

Impossible. Any Bama/Tennessee game is the most important game in the history of football. Nothing could ever stop these two Goliaths from playing each other. The entire football universe must stop and bow down to watch this game that teaches the entire world what it means to be a rival. War Permanent Opponents!!!

Didn't take too long for the whiny/mad LSU fans to show up

I know. Would someone please put Tulane on their schedule every year so we can stop hearing about this...

Fair point. We do know that Alabama-Tennessee is more important than two top 25 teams playing from the same division. Maybe one day LSU fans will just accept it.

We had the nation's longest consecutively played game (96 years or so) when we decided that playing Tulane was pointless. Sooner or later, Bama will wise up and realize the same thing about playing Tennessee.

UT had a 7 game winning streak against them a few years before this current streak started. This game isn't going anywhere. I'm sorry you guys can't handle Florida every year. Not our problem.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit...not surprising, though

SEC cross divisional foes should be random, thus giving the best chance for schedules to be equal. If cross divisional games count towards deciding the divisional champions, then you shouldn't have one team playing 2 top ten cross divisional opponents (see LSU playing UF and USC) and another playing 2 chumps from the other side (see Bama playing Mizzou and Tenn).
The SEC really should have re-evaluated things after last year's debacle in the SEC East when South Carolina went 5-0 but was forced to play a top 5 opponent from the West, while UGA played the West bottom feeders and backdoored their way into a SEC Championship beatdown.
