About you being an Auburn fan or about LSU being a place lots of coaches could win? The 2nd part was proven already by Ed O and Les Miles.

You have to hire the best coach for your school. Not the hot name.

You may still be right. He hasn’t won anything yet. Beating Notre Dame is easy for every team in the SEC except for UGA.

a hire like Jon Sumrall

Depends on the contract really. Would be a solid hire, but he is a bit green still.

Damn. You’re right. Arky and UGA can’t beat ND but the rest of us kick their arse in modern times. Lol

Elko fits at A&M. Those fans LOVE defense.

He’s a Gene Chizik clone.

Why would Kiffin leave a place he can make a million dollars per win per year to go to a place where that same performance will get him burned at the stake?

He’s a massive upgrade from Kelly. Kiffin is one of the most dynamic offensive play callers in the country and has had multiple seasons where he was damn near on the brink of running the table but came up barely short.

Kelly didn’t just lose the big games, he got absolutely destroyed. Kiffin stays competitive and has yet to get blown out by an SEC opponent.

I melted about the O hire… he won a title.

I was happy/excited about the Kelly hire… he failed.

The fanbase reaction the day a coach is hired is irrelevant in the grand scheme. It will all play out on the field.

I assume this was a playful jab, but I'll remind you anyway that our overall record against the Irish is 3-1. So we've done ok against them.

If you wanna reference last year's game, go ahead, but when our back up QB had to make his first start in the playoffs with a national spotlight and a trip to the natty on the line, it was a tough assignment.

Most I’ve heard would be pretty happy with Sumrall or Golesh

I'm hearing Lanning's name being thrown around. I'm biased I guess because he's a Kirby disciple, but I'd be excited about that hire if I was an LSU fan. But Oregon can certainly match any kind of dollars that LSU could throw at him...you'd think.

Yeah, Lanning would be a great hire but I'm not sure we can outbid Nike.
