Maybe. It's hard to tell. Certainly Kiffin typically does pretty well with his portal adds.
That said, if LSU does not do well you can't say Kiffin needs to get his own players. He has brought in 41 players so far. Half his roster are players he brought in. Typically much more than most coaches in their first year.

LSU athletics in absolute shambles this year and their fans feeling bad for a school that had a football team in the semifinals and a baseball team currently playing in a super regional.

I asked him who exactly he was referring to. When I call out someone for a change of opinion, I usually demonstrate that the person themselves said both things instead of a dumb generalization.
For instance, you haven't demonstrated a massive change of opinion on Kiffin where someone like ManBearSharkReb has.
