No offense, but the outside of the new addition looks like shite. The inside is . What idiot designed the outside to look whitewashed and unfinished?
Well it's not finished so that's probably why it looks that way. As for it looking cool you must be really old because the east side has been covered up since the 70's, north and west facade needed repairs for a long long time and finally got them it's unfortunate that the west is now covered up with a upper deck too but there's not a lot of room on that side with buildings being so close. The south never looked great, this is actually a huge upgrade. I'm not a fan of the direction they went on the expansions but it is what it is and still looks pretty good.
This looked good but that is from the 50's
This didn't look great
This was a improvement.
This is the south pre expansion, not great either.

Yeah I find the new SEZ to be a huge improvement over what we had.

Hello McFly...because it's not finished yet. August 22nd is the completion date. And LSU AD Joe Alleva recently stated that the top is a work in progress. There are plans in place to unify the look, he just wanted to get the restrooms and concessions in place for 2014.

LSU isn't quite finished building it. Tigers' athletic director Joe Alleva knows they will come, at least on Sept. 6.
"They'll be here; I have no doubts," Alleva said Tuesday during a media tour of the $80 million expansion of Tiger Stadium's South end zone upper deck, which will propel capacity to 102,321, second largest in the SEC and fifth in the nation.

Here comes the sod...
Plus it looks like they're staining/painting the older sections of the stadium to match the new concrete better.
Nice.

Good, because the off colored older sections look terrible like that. I was hoping they did something to clear that up.

Big smile.
And a tasty beverage for toasting.
God, I love it.

They're waterproofing that area because of the location of the new concourse below it. They are just doing that small area.

Tiger stadium used to look cool from the outside but every expansion was done in a different fashion and now it looks like different buildings depending on the side you are on.
Umm the south expansion unifies it with the north look. Try and know what you are talking about.

You have your directions mixed up

Are they going to be continuously working on Kyle during the season? Or are they going to shut it down until the last home game?

You are right I meant east instead of west.

Not posting to anyone in general but I speak for the rest of the other football teams in saying
to all of you guys renovating like this
to how good it looks, and
because my team plays in Charger Stadium.
I have enjoyed this thread from start to finish. As fans/alums, you have no idea the privilege you have to be a part of these teams and stadiums. Serious mode off/
Fences suck........

The plan is the have all of phase 1 complete by the opener and then begin phase to immediately after the season so he full renovation will be completed within two offseasons.
I still remember the freak out about moving the home games to Reliant for a season, possibly building Kyle in an entirely new spot, etc.
Good times for melting.
