I have the utmost respect for Skip as a person and coach, but holy shite he botched the new alex box and west side expansion so badly
He's not a architect, I'm sure the plans for both were approved by a lot of people involved. It's not like those are the only two construction projects botched by LSU.

what's wrong with alex box outside having bleachers, something that can be easily corrected in the future?

It's a sun shade, yes. And it actually does it's job very well. Or that's what they tell me, the regular club seat owners in Stadium Club West.
I myself have only visited that club, and Stadium Club South, a couple of times. Mostly for events.

I have been to it a few times during games. One of my pledge brother's grandfathers had a suite and all the pledges that didn't have student tickets were given tickets to his suite. I also dated a girl whose father had a suite but it didn't workout.

The sun shade works pretty good but tinting the windows would have done the same thing and looked better.

He still pretty much makes the final call. I don't understand how Alleva's projects have come out so much better thus far.
I was probably a little too critical of Alex Box, given what's wrong can certainly be fixed. LSU has the biggest baseball budget, great fans, money was in place, etc. I just can't believe it wasn't done right from the beginning

The field should be in this week.
You couldn't pay me enough...

You're gonna like what happens with The Box, if the plans as envisioned hold up. Two words: more suites.

There are some bad angles in the park, in some places that you shouldn't have them--like in sections 210 and 214, where you have to turn your head fairly sharply to see any of the action (not just when the balls down in a corner) despite being behind home plate--and the fact that you have to climb all the way to the top of the grandstand to access seats less than 10 rows or so from the field. Don't get me wrong, it's a great college baseball venue, but there were, in my opinion, some mistakes made in its design.

Question for Aggy: Do y'all have any plans to put up some type facade in the end zone with the building or are the beams going to stay exposed?

Original plans had some brick facade. They changed the angle of the steel which made it unreasonable to keep the facade.
Ultimately it will not be highly visible as the view is mostly blocked by the Bright complex, indoor football, and indoor T&F.
Here is view from inside the stadium looking up. You can see how close it is to the Bright complex and that it actually overhangs it.

Here is an older picture during last off season.

The only facade that could be added would only be ~ the same height as the Bright complex. We're talking about very little improvement.

I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually add some sort of banners.

We could put up some brick banners like Baylor?

The East side of Tiger Stadium is similar to this. The space between the structure and a row of buildings is just barely wide enough to fit the team buses through. It's a pretty ugly facade but there is nothing that can be done about it other than some type of banner.

It could be beautiful if executed properly.

They could probably fit some type of arch facade on top of the supports on the east side, but it is not necessary. The hill and the buildings on it covers up the majority of the east side. The west side is the eye sore on TS. Alleva's improvements a few years ago made it better but it is still bad.
