Before college sports were integrated fans weren't watching the best athletes but they seemed to enjoy the games.

Maybe time to go back to games with true student athletes and let the mercenaries move on.

Congress isn't going to overrule the courts on this. There is no chance, zilch, nada, of that happening.

Change with the times or go extinct.

Or… move on to any of the 1000 other things I could be doing with tens of thousands of dollars an and the best weekends of the year.

If the fans who spend the money pull the plug the only thing going extinct is the bubble that is modern college athletics.

They don’t have to “overrule” the courts, they just have to pass a law…the problem the NCAA had, was they weren’t laws, just rules by an association.

Now…. The only thing “collegiate” about “college” football is the name on the uniform. Players aren’t students anymore. They are paid professionals playing a sport with a university name on it.
College sports is dead.

Agreed. Colleges are now simply running minor league businesses
for the NFL , while only about one-and-a-half percent of total Division-1
athletes will have a career in the NFL. But if colleges have an
excuse to continue providing facilities and collective organizations for
salaries , it's this : About 91-percent of Division-1 athletes graduate.
Have a agreed upon salary cap for all schools and attached rules and
regulations to bring an end to the wild west.

It will free-up my Saturdays just like my Sundays were freed-up of the NFL 25 years ago.

Capitalism doesn’t really exist without contracts, and largely due to ridiculous government overreach that stems from Title IX and various anti-trust laws, the colleges are barred from directly paying players, let alone having enforceable contracts.

frick NIL. I'd rather see less talented kids across the sport play for the school they committed to and let the spoiled prima donnas go straight to the NFL. Just overhaul it completely.

Verbal agreements are contracts.

Correct. Colleges should be able to pay players.
