So are you now under the impression that Miller had no idea he was riding around with a loaded firearm?

Why not stop and say, "Hold up, what is going on? I want no part of that."

Nope, he continued there and watched as the two got in his car, got the gun, and discussed a round being in the chamber. And he did nothing.

I can take this one for you

“He was already driving there”

“He was literally almost there”

“He was seconds away”

“He probably didn’t see the text. My teenage daughter doesn’t text and drive. You’d be shocked at how many college students don’t either nowadays”

“His car literally has no breaks. There was no way he couldn’t bring a loaded gun to a heated altercation at that point. He was literally on the way”

That should sum it up

According to the DA, you are wrong on every account. And that's really all that matters.

being able to lawfully carry is not the same as being a responsible gun owner

We were 25 at the time. 30 years ago. Funny thing is, he pulled us over for speeding and never wrote me a ticket. And, still to this day, I have never gotten a speeding ticket.
I may be wrong. Alabama might have added a Duty to Inform (if asked) when they implemented Constitutional Carry in January.

There have been so many changes - mostly for the better - in gun laws over the last 30 years that it is hard to keep up.

I travel through Alabama a lot for work so I try to stay up to date on gun laws throughout the south east. I got pulled over once near Heflin by a state trooper but I cannot remember if he asked what was in the vehicle. Overall, very nice guy and expierance. He quickly gave me my speeding ticket and I got back to Atlanta.

Who hides their gun in someone's car without telling them?

I know plenty of idiots who would do that. Not friends with them anymore but they certainly exist. You would have to be pretty naive to be in anyway surprised that people would do something like that.

In Ga I carried everywhere. In a seat beside me was not uncommon, if it wasn’t dudes car then in the backseat makes some sense if he rode back there.

Alabama has this thing called Constitutional Carry which means you don't have to get a permission slip from the government to exercise your God given right of self-defense, as enumerated in the US Constitution.

Texas doesn't have that, which is clear from what you have posted.
Yes, we do.

If someone posts on the Outdoor board, OT Lounge, etc.. that they had their vehicle broke in and a gun stolen from the backseat "hidden" under some clothes they will immediately be labeled as a complete idiot for leaving it in the car in the first place.

I concealed carry every day everywhere I go. However, there are times I have to leave my gun in my car. Courthouses and most government and any other buildings with a metal detector, hospitals, concerts, etc.

I will agree I wouldn’t leave it in the backseat loose under clothes, but given the circumstances of a foolish kid going into a club and just quickly leaving the gun in your ride’s car is not out of the question. Was it a smart way to do it? No. But there are plenty of legitimate reasons to leave your gun in your car.
