First, I hate Tamu.

With that out of the way, it seems that Tamu has been right on the cusp for a few years now. To be honest, I think they've been a QB away recently.

Does anyone, besides A&M fans, think it's about time?

I think that isn't really known at this time. I do wonder if Jimbo's offense is dynamic enough to win out in the SEC, if the QB is anything other than elite.

Again calling him a future Heisman is stupid until he actually takes snap period.

It's stupid because it will be impossible for a quarterback to put up Heisman winning numbers playing in Jimbo's system in the SEC West.

Mond was a third-round draft pick. How on Earth is that a failure for a low 4* recruit?

Jimbo’s offense lives and dies by the QB. If he has an elite QB the offense will be elite. If he has a below average QB the offense will be below average. This whole season was forcing a round peg into a square hole with Calzada. He is hard headed and unwavering in departing from his scheme. It’s one of his biggest criticisms IMO.

All Sumlin recruits. How has Sumlin done since leaving Texas A&M? It was a bad coaching hire.

Malik Henry - got suspended as a true freshman for violation of team rules. Transferred after true freshman season. Only played in 3 games at Nevada.

Deandre Francois - On February 3, 2019, it was announced that Francois had been removed from the Florida State football program after a video of a domestic dispute between him and his girlfriend surfaced on social media.

James Foster - redshirted first year. Saw garbage time in blowouts his second year. Opted out of 2020 Covid season. He 3rd string behind Freshman Haynes king. He decided to transfer.

Some that were successful:
Ryan Tannehill - 1st round pick, NFL starter
Johnny Manziel - Heisman winner, 1st round draft pick
Kellen Mond - 3rd round draft pick

Nice spin though.

No just don't tout a kid who has never played one down in college as a future Heisman. Had he played before and shown anything at the college level than sure you have reason to think he might get there with more experience. But to claim you already know he will just because some recruiting hack puts 5 stars next to his name is moronic and short sighted looking at him through marron colored glasses. I am hopeful Walker Howard will be a good or even great QB but just because he was a 5 star QB in high school I won't proclaim anything about him until he does something in college.

Myles Brennen looked very good prior to getting hurt so yes I will proclaim that he will again have a good season based on prior play at the COLLEGE LEVEL!!

Oh and call anyone who says exactly what you just said a dumbass who doesn't know football just because we are not aTm fans....right got it.

Best part of getting Max was also getting his brother.

^This. Max isn't a starter, he's a damn strong backup. I'm thankful he was on LSU's team last year when Brennan went down. But his decision making is slow and results in him holding onto the ball little to long. The best part of getting max is his brother....and if your #1 QB gets injured.

Never once said this. 90% of people putting Texas A&M in the national title conversation are not A&M fans. It’s mainly a part of the media generating hype. There are a lot of steps between where A&M is and a national title. Elite recruiting is just 1 of them.

Every incoming QB who has never played a down in college is a possible future Heisman candidate.

There are several recent QB's who have won the Heisman that were not on anyone's radar at the start of the season including Joe B and Johnny Football

at the revisionist history.

Dude was the #3 ranked dual threat quarterback in America and #7 overall.

Using 247 Sports' scoring range, he was a mid to high 4 star.

Eh, he's a decent option.

He'll be their starter.

Far more experienced than King

Better fit for Jimbo's system than King

Aggies need to stop fooling themselves, the Johnson's didn't go to A&M for Max to be the backup.

Max will have to earn the starting position - it isn't going to be given to him. No matter what, A&M is going to be better at QB next Fall
