I can't say for sure how Saban will structure the gameplan defensively.
I'd stack the box with 8, put Cyrus and Marlon in man coverage, and let Eddie Jackson roam VERY deep.

Then I would have #83 and #15 go deep.
Whichever side jackson favors throw it to the other side.

Simple reminder, Chubb ran for 150 against Bama. How'd that work out?
LF will get his, Bama will force Harris to beat them. If he can make plays with his feet and hit the deep ball then it may be a long day for the Tide.
Chubb had two good runs during the game, outside of those two runs, Sony Michel actually ran more consistently between the two. However, the larger reality is that Georgia's team as a whole was clearly overrated, so comparing them to LSU exclusively is an exercise in futility. If you want to make the argument that Chubb was the be all end all, the answer is that a RB without a line will not do well versus Bama, and if their oline was half of what it was advertised to be then Georgia wouldn't be struggling so mightily without Chubb. Comparing Georgia to LSU at this point is pointless really, there are more differences than similarities.

This is exactly how LSU has blown the top off all season. A single high safety with Dural clearing out and Dupre running a skinny post.
One safety can't cover both.

Bama won't stack the box until it is proven that it is needed.

The plan isn't to "keep him somewhat under control" The plan is to shut him the frick down with 7 men in the box. We'll find out Saturday night whether or not the plan can be executed. If it can't, adjustments will be made. If it can, Chicken will need to employ a few more hamsters Alabama isn't interested in moral victories. They will come out with the mindset of dominating lsu and making their arse quit. Buckle up
Again, OM says "hello"!

Harris throws the deep ball well and doesn't turn it over well. At least, he hasn't up until this point...

How much of an accomplishment is it that Bama kept Georgia to 10 points? Both Mizzou and Florida held them to 9 and 3 points.

My answer to that is our pass rush. Granted Saban and Smart are probably doing something else, but in my scenario I just hope our badass front 7 can get pressure before the WRs can get open deep.

. We are going to pay very little attention to the pass and take our chances. You have to attempt to take something away and Fournette is much more of a threat than the passing game.
You may be in for a rude awakening if you pay little attention to the passing game. This isn't Jennings back there anymore.

Simple reminder, when Georgia needed Chubb to get yards, he couldn't. When the game was in question Nick Chubb was shut down. He struggled gaining anything. He couldn't pick up first downs and was shut down everytime he touched the ball when the game was in question.
Simple reminder, the QB that UGA played the UA game was benched for a 3rd string QB this past week (that was horrible in his own right). Good thing for LSU they have a QB statically tied for second QBR in the league and receivers who have played their best ball as the season has played out. News flash: Fournette isn't gonna have to do it all on his own. Oh and one more thing BH can run too if he needs too.

Saban likes playing with 5 and 6 dbs these days so I think Alabama will play there base nickel defense and see if they can neutralize Fournette with only 2 LBs.
i doubt this,
we go nickel base too, but we have both been playing spread/Air Raid teams where 5 DBs makes sense
LSU comes out with a TE and a FB you aren't going to put extra people in the box, and not DBs.

There will be a lot of hand checking and pulling on jerseys to contain the receivers and don't expect any PI penalties. Our guys do the same but never get away with it

I have felt all along that if 4Net gets 25-30 carries and 150-180 yards... and 75 of it is on one long run, we'll be OK. If 4Net rips off 6-8 yards a carry all night long, it's gonna be a really tough game for us.
Overall, I think Bama matches up well strength on strength. It should be a great game.

Well... Chubb scored 7 of those points on us with a 83 run... Wanna play us without Fournette like UGA played Mizzou and Florida without Chubb???

Stack the box, put Harris in a lot of 3rd and long situations, get turnovers.

Honestly this would be the worst thing to do against us. With that front seven Bama should run a 3-4/4-3 against us for every down that isn't an obvious passing down. If anyone can slow LF it's these guys. I think he has to trust his back four to cover our receivers and let his front 7 do what they do best. They won't stop him with only 2 LBs but with 3 or 4 they very well might.
