Ok, 2 things can be true and the ideas aren't mutually exclusive.
The idea that Schiano is not a good fit for Tennessee as a head football coach can be true. My first reaction when hearing that rumor was how odd of a fit it was. He's a northern guy with very few southern ties and doesn't have the greatest reviews.
But it can also be true that Tennessee fans were disappointed in the hire when they were being told Gruden for weeks and this was the kneejerk reaction. That they were stirred up by Clay Travis on social media and created a toxic, mob like environment that nipped the hire in the bud.
Do I think Schiano was the best hire for Tennessee? No.
Do I think that Tennessee fans overreacted based on minimal information and shouldn't be "proud" of this accomplishment. Yes.

They are plain and simple. I get that they were mad about the hire ,because he is a mediocre head coach at best. He is one game above .500 at Rutgers and was a bust in the NFL as a head coach ,but the fans were wrong to go after him for being part of Joe Paterno's staff with Jerry Sandusky and essentially calling him a pedophile. This was a frick up of epic proportions by the UT athletic director John Currie and he should have been fired yesterday.

This. Even if he knew nothing about Sandusky's pedophilia, he was at the wrong place at the right time. He got dealt a mildly shitty "first world" hand by fate by even an innocent association with Sandusky, but compared to a lot of people in this world he's still a lucky dude.
